SMITH, GERALDINE KATHERINE (RYAN)
Born
December 19, 1919, Geraldine (Gerry)
Smith, 101 years young, passed on March 2, 2021. Her Irish eyes were always smiling and she definitely
stole our hearts away.
She was
predeceased by her loving husband Harold (Smitty) Smith; parents Jerry and
Katherine Ryan; brother Roger (Lucille) Ryan; and son-in-law Stephen R. Tisa.
Gerry is
survived by children: Patricia (Warren) Knapp, Sheri Tisa, H. Michael (Mary
Jean) Smith, William (Denise) Smith, Jeffrey (Cindi) Smith; grandchildren:
Bruce (Theresa) Knapp, Rebekah (Jonathan) Pullis, Ryan (Angela) Knapp, Stephen
(Pam) Tisa, Travis (Catherine) Tisa, Michael P. Smith, Gregory (Kelli) Smith,
Sean Smith; great-grandchildren: Joshua and Madison Knapp, Charles and Oliver
Pullis, Tanner and Eleanor Knapp, Alex and Sean Tisa, Elizabeth and Abby Tisa,
Nicholas (Allison) Nobel, Monroe and Ford Smith; and Aunt to: Kathleen (Larry)
Warren, Susan (Ned) Turner, and John (Jeanne) Ryan.
The family is left with memories of a beautiful lady devoted to her family, faith and friends. She witnessed many changes in the world and her own life in her 101 years. Her positive attitude, ready smile, Irish heritage, and love of life saw her through both good and bad times. (Canadian Pharmacy) Good-byes from Gerry always ended with “…and may God bless you “. The family would like to thank all at Fairport Baptist Homes for the kindnesses and care given our mother, especially the caregivers on 1E. She will be buried at Oakwood Cemetery next to Smitty.
A Memorial Mass will be held June 3 at 10 AM at Church of the Assumption, Fairport.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: SOFI Program, Senior Options for Independence, 4646 Nine Mile Road, Fairport, NY 14450.

Gerry was a great lady with a wonderful family.. I worked with her for many years at the Village of Fairport. We will never forget her. Rest in peace.
To Jeff, Cindi, and Sean- I’m sorry! She will be missed. I know how much you loved her and I’m sure she knew too. How lucky to have had her in your lives all of these years. It is still not easy to say goodbye but knowing she is with her Smitty must make you smile. ❤️

I am so very sorry hearing of the passing of your Mom. She will always be apart of my Parce Avenue memories. For many years we swapped Christmas cards and it was always so nice to hear from her and be updated on the family. My sincerest condolences to Patty, Sheri, Mike, Bill, Jeff and their families. Mrs. Smith always sat in the same pew @ 4:00 mass. Whenever she wasn’t there I would ask the ladies that sat with her ” Is Mrs . Smith OK? ” She always smiled at me and gave me a wink. She was lovely person. I’m sure she is smiling and winking in heaven. May she rest in peace. My sincerest sympathy to all her family.

To have the opportunity to get to know one’s great grandparent at all is an amazing thing in and of itself. Being given over 25 years of happy and loving memories with my great grandmother is nothing short of a blessing. You may no longer be by our side grandma, but you will forever remain in all of our hearts.
Don and I consider it an honor to have known such a truly lovely lady. Your memory will be cherished by all. May you Rest In Peace sweet lady.
