Myrtle Ann Lasher, 88 years of age passed away peacefully March 17, 2021 with her family around her.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Robert Lasher Jr.; Daughter, Debe (Bob) Koch, Son, Robert (Kimberly) Lasher III; Grandchildren, Cody (Lizzy) Koch, Emmy (Clay) Hillegeer, Michael and Brandon Lasher; Great-Grandchildren, Jayden and Carter Hillegeer.

Myrtle was born in Tupper Lake and raised her family with husband Bob, in Star Lake NY.  She briefly worked as a nurse but then later moved to Rochester where they both worked for Bausch & Lomb.  In their retirement, they greatly enjoyed time spent traveling in their motor home.  They were on the road for 13 years, taking trips out west to California, the Grand Canyon, New Mexico and Florida in the Winters.  Summers were spent parked in South Bristol at their daughter’s, Debe and families’ home. They later settled back at their prior home in Irondequoit, building an in-law addition above their son and daughter in law’s home.  Just this past year, they faced many obstacles as they joined Elderwood Senior Care facility during a pandemic.  Health circumstances created them to separate facilities where Myrtle later got Covid.  After a month-long battle and hospitalization, she fought that along with other Covid related factors that may have contributed to her death.  What is most important is that her family was able to touch her, hold her, and be with her in the final month before her passing.  Her lifelong sweetheart, Bob was in her presence before her journey to Heaven.

Our lives have been a treasure with you in it.  We will keep you forever in our hearts “Casper”, Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma.

A funeral service will be held Thursday 3/25 11am at White Haven Memorial Park’s All Seasons Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Foundation; https://monroecountysheriffsfoundation.org/donate/

She’s in the sun, the wind, the rain.

She’s in the air you breathe with every breathe you take.

She sings a song of hope and cheer.

There’s no more pain, no more fear.

You’ll see her in the clouds above,

hear her whisper words of love.

You’ll be together before long,

until then listen for her song

    Dear Myrtle,
For now, all your loved ones bid you farewell and honor the wonderful person you have been in this life.
A loving wife to Bob, “my Pal” as he referred to you.
A proud, loving mother to Bobby & my wonderful friend Debe, who has stepped into your shoes as an exceptional human being, I can only thank you and Bob for having her in this world.
A doting grandmother to her grandchildren & great grandchildren.
A kind, compassionate, & thoughtful friend to all.
You had such a friendly and beautiful beautiful smile. A beautiful woman in every way and one who was always brave and ready to tell it like it is.

    Part 2– from Diane Holmes

To my sweet adopted Mom & “text pal”, it has been very hard for me to say goodbye. You were there every day for me to cheer me up after losing my own Mom. You stepped right in to make sure I was ok.
I want to thank you with all my heart and let you know you will be greatly missed by everyone who knew you on this earth.
Somehow I know you are looking down at all of us with that bright, beautiful smile of yours and you realize our love & heartfelt memories will help us move forward knowing your are always somewhere near.
To all of your friends and family I send my deepest condolences and best wishes for peace and all the necessary gifts they will need to heal from this great loss.
My love to all , Diane Holmes
