John is the smartest man I have ever know, so rich in knowledge and passion for history, opera and his family. John was a wonderful man, father, stepfather, doting grandfather and a loving husband to my mom, for which I will be forever grateful. He will be tremendously missed. We are heartbroken.❤️
My husband and I are both attorneys who worked with John back in the 1980’s at NHDD. John taught both of us early in our legal careers about precision, dedication, focus and attention to detail. We send our deepest sympathies to his family and former colleagues.
John was a highly valued member of our firm at Nixon Hargrave and a wonderful colleague. My most sincere condolences to his family and friends.
Andra, our condolences to you and your family. We think of your fondly, and are so sorry to hear about your loss.
I am so saddened by the loss of this special person. I had the privilege of working side by side with John for over 20 years at Nixon. He was my friend, teacher and mentor. Early in my career as a paralegal, John taught me so much about commercial lending, which skills have proven invaluable to me in my now almost 35 years at Nixon. But as much as I am grateful for this, what I will miss most is the friendship and laughter we shared. I will miss you, my dear friend. Thank you for making a difference in my life, as I’m sure you have in the lives of so many others. My heartfelt condolences to you, Andra and your loving family.
Andra and the Bouman family, I had the privilege of knowing John and being his partner for many years at Nixon Peabody. He was always gracious and a wonderful conversationalist. I very much enjoyed our discussions on classical music and opera. I am sorry that I never had the opportunity to take one of his courses at Oasis. My heartfelt condolences to you and may your memories of him comfort you in this time of grief.
John and I became partners at Nixon, Hargrave at the same time and were law partners for many years until his retirement. He was a highly respected lawyer, well liked by all. I extend my deepest sympathy to his family.

There are no words to describe the pain we all feel from losing you. I will forever be grateful for you coming into our life and taking care of my mom the way you did for so many years. Thank you for so many great memories John. We will look for you in the B52s and the Major. Love you
John was a mentor, a friend and a terrific teacher to all those fortunate enough to be under his tutelage. He was erudite and cultured. Condolences to his family.
I was in the opera class John taught at Oasis, where his generosity of spirit, his love of music, and his commitment to researching his subject were always in evidence. It was a wonderful class, and Andra’s technical assistance was a bonus. I extend my sincere condolences to Andra and all family members.
I’m saddened by this news. John was always kind to me for the 25 years I was at Nixon, he was Special and I will remember that forever. My Condolences to the family. ?
