Mr. John Paddock, 95, of Brighton, died Tuesday, August 17th, surrounded by family in Penfield.

Born in November of 1925, brother to Betty Clark (deceased) and Edie Eagen. He enlisted in the US Army for World War II. He served under General George Patton in Italy and France before being honorably discharged in 1946. He then married his sweetheart Frances Carey on July 4th later that year. He later joined the Naval Reserves and was called for active duty for the Korean Conflict where he served as a gunners mate on the USS Roosevelt.

After his service, he worked at Graflex and Singer Corporations before retiring from Quality Measurements Systems.

John was married to his loving wife Frances (Carey) Paddock for 63 years. Prior to her passing in 2009, the two enjoyed traveling the country and spending time with their friends and family.

Survived by his children, Lon Paddock of Canandaguia NY, husband of Pat Paddock. Brenda Austin of Palmyra, wife of Richard Austin, and Tammy Chmiel of Penfield, wife of Michael Chmiel. Grandfather of Paul Paddock, Michael (Mary) Natrigo, Joseph (Amy) Natrigo, Connor (Cara Rusinko) and Erin Chmiel. Survived by his 11 great grandchildren and other additional great great grandchildren.

    My aunt was kind enough to send me your Dad’s obituary from the paper! I am so sorry for your loss!. He and your mom were the best and they shared so many wonderful memories with my parents.
