Haase, Carolyn Lass Shurgot “Carol”

Survived by daughter Kathleen (Shurgot) and son-in-law Rick Schopinsky; and daughter Ellen Shurgot. Grandchildren Aubrey, Shane, Jeremy, Tessa Schopinsky and Lucas Shurgot. Stepsons Martin Haase, and Donald Haase Jr., his sons Jacob and Zachary and their mother Stefanie Haase. Predeceased by stepson Ken Haase.

Carol was a world traveler; she loved seeing the natural beauty of  the world and the people she met along the way. Her favorite trip was through Africa. She enjoyed her long time volunteer work with the ladies at Sweet Charity/Advent House and at the Fairport Library. Flowers, birds, sunshine, and reading in her garden brought her great joy.
Carol was quick with a smile and hug . She often expressed appreciation for time with her family and that she felt like “a lucky lady.”  She was the rock for her family, who thought she was “the cat’s pajahmas.”  She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

If you wish, contributions can be made on her behalf to a public library of your choice.

Carol, we were friends for almost fifty years, oh, so many memories. When we moved from NYS to Arkansas, we talked often, just continuing from the previous conversation. Miss you, dear friend.
