Passed Away September 20, 2021

Wm Garry Reed was born on February 23rd 1936 in Fairport, New York.  He graduated from Fairport High School, Class of 1954.  He advanced his education through the RIT Apprentice Program at The Gleason Works and was employed there many years.  He later worked at Eastman Kodak Company and Monroe #1 BOCES.  He was a Past Chief of the Fairport Fire Dept with over 50 years of service.  He and his wife, Sandy, retired to Painted Post, New York.

Garry enjoyed watching the Buffalo Bills, old movies, and NASCAR.  He enjoyed being a left-handed bowler, playing softball, and a game of euchre with family and friends.  He was often one of the last to leave the campfire having enjoyed a beer or two with his life-long friends.  The Brown’s annual Labor Day Pig Roast was well-known and well-attended by many at the conclusion of the summer camping season.  Sandy and Garry enjoyed traveling the country with their RV, having visited most of the lower 48 states, often making new friends along the way.  They returned to the Smoky Mountains many times – occasionally joined by family members who  inherited their love of the outdoors.  They flew to Hawaii with friends on the occasion of their 25th wedding anniversary.

Garry is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Sandy.  Daughter Shari (Ken) Matthews, son Scott (Vicki) Reed; sister-in-law Emma Lou Reed of AK, nephew Ron (Melissa) Reed of AK; brother-in-law Chuck Luke; grandson Joel (Rachel) Matthews, granddaughter Juleen (Adam) Reeners; great grandchildren Blake, Kaelyn, and Jameson Matthews,  Lukas and Alice Reeners; nephews Larry (Vicki) and Jim DeRue; great nieces and nephews, great grand nephews, and life-long friends.

Calling Hours Monday September 27, 4-6PM at the Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home (Egypt Location) 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Road, Fairport

Donations in Garry’s memory can be made to the Great Smoky Mountains Association, PO Box 130, Gatlinburg, TN 37738
