Mary Beth Vollmer (Phillips) (Bober) of Penfield, passed away Saturday, 10/23 after a short illness, at the age of 77. Mary Beth was a follower of Christ, and selflessly gave and volunteered her life daily towards helping others. Born Dec. 28th, 1943 in Milwaukee, WI, as the 3rd of 11 children, she attended U.W. Madison as an English major, and loved to write Poetry, and Journal her life. She was always sensitive to other’s needs, and always available to give encouragement, or the last penny she had to anyone who needed it. She would evangelize on the street or a park to total strangers, and found great joy in nature, flowers and animals, giving backrubs, and playing chess and other games. She was a sweet wife, mother, sister, great friend to many, and will be sorely missed.
Mary Beth is survived by her 2 sons and daughter: Jim(Judy), Bill(Vicky) and Kim(Ben), grandchildren: Ashley, Daniel, Joshua, Sarah, Joseph, Julia, Abby, Ethan, Liam, great-grandson: Easton, 8 brothers and sisters, and ex-husband Tom. She is now “home” in her place in heaven, where she is again dancing with her pre-deceased husband, Nick Phillips, her father, mother, and two older brothers, Jack and Jim. The world is worse off for her passing, but heaven has gained a saint. Mary Beth loved the Spring and flowers, so we will hold a memorial celebration of life for her sometime next Spring. But if she died of COVID-19, you should please PLEASE tell people. Too many denying and because Mary believed the lies about vaccines and that’s the reason she’s no longer here.

We believe that it was Addison’s disease that she battled since she was a child that weakened her in the last days. No one else had tested positive for Covid in the home, but I agree, especially for the elderly, a vaccination is a good measure of prudence if your doctor approves.
It appears that she may not have died of Covid as initially proposed (because she had cooked and carried food to the houses of quarantined friends who had tested positive for the virus)but of her chronic Addison’s disease which affected her seriously many times in her lifetime since age 12. It caused by a malfunctioning of the adrenal glands (President John Kennedy had it). Although Covid tests could not be performed with any reliability after her death, other elderly persons in the household who were closely exposed to her for days either tested negative or did not show signs of illness. She apparently was weakened by some infection (simple colds did this many times), and family members who were familiar with her chronic condition and might have helped were not notified in time.

“Dispelling Covid story” No one dispelled Covid as being the cause. Denial of something people are dying from is a travesty. Stop it! Mary is with our Savior, but she could have lived with her loved ones a little longer.
Hi, I’m the person that gave Mary and Nick temporary housing after selling their house in Brighton and believe it also was the year you retired from Kodak. Saw Mary’s obit. and have some original documents from her house sale on Westland Ave. in Brighton. Found them during a cleaning out a few years ago; but never knew how to contact her. Don’t know if these documents are still needed for any record or if I should just throw them out. Could you contact your kids to see if they are wanted or needed? Thank you.

What Can I say about the most sweetest person i know. I met Marybeth at SOG church and we became friends around 2013. I joined the Healing Rooms which she belonged to and I learned a lot from her. we prayed and shared the gospel with people on the street. I will miss you MaryBeth she was my 2nd MOM i loved her very much and I am very sad of her going. She told me she was in Heaven before when she was like 34 i think she said it was a beautiful place. MaryBeth knew my mom and dad as well also.. Around September she told me she had a dream that God told her she would be moving and that everyone in the house would be moving, well I guess she was right. I didnt think you would be moving to Heaven!!!… You will be so missed MaryBeth!!!

I am so very sorry to hear about the passing of Mary.Mary was a very loving and giving person and a wonderful friend. I have many fond memories of our friendship. My condolences, prayers and love to Jim, Bill and Kim and their families.
