Weeks (Meisenzahl), Frances Ann

Frances Ann Weeks (Meisenzahl) died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on June 9th, 2022. She lived in Fairport, NY and was a member of St. John of Rochester Parish. She is predeceased by her parents, George and Frances (Kenney) Meisenzahl, her husband, Raymond J. Weeks of twenty-eight years, her sister Rita G. Brasser and her dear friend, Warren L. LaVigne. She is survived by her four children, Ann (John) Limbeck, Thomas Weeks, Mary Ellen (Douglas) Byron, and Michele (Robert) Sherwood, her eight grandchildren, Christopher Limbeck, Susan (Brian) Cullum, Elizabeth (Christian Cote) Weeks, Stephanie Byron, Brittany Weeks, Geoffrey Weeks, Robert Sherwood, and Michael Sherwood, her great-granddaughter, Peyton Cullum, and her life-long friend, Rosemary Bucher. She is also survived by cousins, including close cousins, Wilma McSweeney, Kathleen (Harold) Russell, Dr. Lawrence Kenney, and Mary Ann (Alex) Testa, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Frances was born on May 22nd, 1928, at home on the Kenney farm on Spencerport Road in Gates, NY. She graduated from St. Theodore’s elementary school in 1942, Nazareth Academy in 1946, and Rochester Business Institute. After finishing her education, Eastman Kodak employed her for several years. She then married Raymond J. Weeks in September 1951 who was from Ellicottville, NY. They were members of St. Helen’s Parish for many years. Together after raising their family, she returned to work at Rochester Scientific Co., then continued her career with the town of Chili, and retired after working at Polymer Products.

She enjoyed extensive travel with her family and friends and especially enjoyed Ireland, Hungary, Panama, Czech Republic, Cape Cod, Lake George, and Lake Placid. In her later years, she and her friends would spend time vacationing in Clearwater Beach, FL. Furthermore, she developed numerous strong friendships while playing euchre and bridge. Her family remembers her spirited excitement when visiting casinos and horseracing tracks while sipping on a perfect Manhattan. Frances was also an accomplished knitter and seamstress.

Raise a parting glass to Frances Weeks!  She left her family and friends with memories to cherish for a lifetime and more.

There will be Calling Hours Wednesday, June 15th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home 41 S Main Street Fairport, NY 14450. 

Frances’ Funeral Mass will be Thursday, June 16th at 10:00am at St. John of Rochester Church, 8 Wickford Way Fairport, NY 14450. Burial immediately following at Holy Ghost Cemetery Coldwater Rd, Gates, NY 14624.

    Michele… so sorry to hear about your Mom. She was always so sweet when i’d see her on “card night” . My mother always had a good time with her and will miss her greatly. Thinking of you amd your family!

    I was lucky enough to meet her a few times, while she visited her granddaughter, Susan. She was funny, sweet, and kind and I always enjoyed hearing stories of this special lady. May these stories, and her memory, always be a blessing to those who love her.
