Respected Rochester area home builder and developer Anthony Bingo, Sr., passed away peacefully, Saturday, June 25, 2022 at the age of 86. A man of family and many friends, Tony is survived by his loving and caring wife of over 65 years Katherine Bingo; daughters Linda (David) Beauchemin and Sharon (Ric) Coffaro; son Anthony Bingo, Jr. (Pam) and sister Noreen (Phil) Mancini. In addition to his wife, children, and sister, survivors include 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Tony’s life story began when he was born in Rochester to parents Michael Bingo and Josephine Andresi. Growing up and watching his father run his own restaurant and one of the very first food trucks in Rochester, Tony saw first-hand the success hard work can bring. He also enjoyed a very close relationship with his stepfather, George Churchill. While attending Madison High School on Epworth Street in southwest Rochester he met the love of his life and married Katherine Mustardo in 1956. Together they raised their children and traveled the world including trips to Italy and Spain. Their relationship was one of truly commitment, kindness, acceptance and love.
Tony was authentic in every way, a self-made man whose success was built on bedrock values. He started home building as a framer in the 1950’s and was often heard saying that a good home is one that has had great attention paid to details – hundreds of them in each project. In 1979 he formed Markay Development, Inc. and later brought his son into the business where they started Anthony Bingo and Son Custom Homebuilders, Inc. Tony and his son were often referred to as the “dynamic duo” enjoying a father and son partnership of mutual respect and a track record of success that other builders envied. Over the years his straightforward approach to home construction was marked by the ability to understand the needs and dreams of every homebuyer. He was a careful and quiet listener, who believed that we never stop learning from others in this life and was always keenly interested in those around him. Tony was precise and detailed with all construction endeavors. He served a term as president of the Rochester Home Builders’ Association and enjoyed many close relationships with his subcontractors, some which spanned over 30 plus years.
Tony enjoyed tennis, golfing and spending time with family and friends. The holidays were always a favorite time of his where he got to see his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren all gathered together for an amazing meal prepared by his wife, Kay. Those fortunate to have known him will forever hold dear the kind and special man he was. His was a life well-built and well-lived.
A private graveside service was held on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at White Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please support the charity of your choice in Tony’s memory.

Initially I met Tony and his son though business supplying them with building materials for the quality homes they built.. As time passed and a few golf tournaments later, I got to known them over the years. Like Father like Son fits their relationship to a tee! Tony your legacy is in good hands! RIP
Tony framed houses for me before he started his own company. Hard worker and good man had great friendship.
My sympathies to Kay and family, I remember the love they had for each other when I saw them at Wegmans (where I worked) Such a sweet couple! May his soul Rest In Peace ???
I am always proud to say if asked that Anthony was related to me. I always answered with a joyful yes, he is my cousin. Our condolences to the whole family.

We are so sorry to hear of Tony’s passing. My mother has so many beautiful memories from babies to grammar school , where Mrs. Cross was not fond of their giggling, Riding to prom together, to being included in your wedding. The world lost a great man , so sorry for your loss.you are all in our thoughts and prayers
Tony built our first new home and 15 years later we had him build our current home. We could have asked any builder but never hesitated to choose the Bingos again. They truly treated us like family and we have great memories of father and son working to make all our ideas come true. It was an honor knowing Tony, and we send our condolences to Tony Jr. and the entire family. He will be forever in our memories.

My sincere condolences to the Bingo Family. I met Tony while doing Survey stakeout on many of the Markay developments. I was always impressed by the quality of his builds and his professionalism. I enjoyed our interaction as he was a true gentleman.
