On July 3, 1934, John Kenealy and his twin brother, Bill, entered this world, tipping the scales at a “whopping” roughly five pounds, combined!  (Legend has it they traveled home in a shoebox.)

The Kenealy boys matured into honorable men who garnered the love and respect of all around them.  In turn, they had families of their own who grew to be honorable, loving men and women:  John, two daughters and Bill, three sons.

Bill passed peacefully in his sleep November 20, 2021.  John departed this world July 2, 2022.  The twins and best friends were united once again for their 88th birthdays.

This post is a remembrance of John, but it’s hard to do so in isolation, such is the special bond between twins.  We relished the times we were all together:  a double-dose of warmth, compassion, curiosity, love and an addictive sense of humor that kept us all on our toes.  We miss them daily, but hold each deep in our hearts and smile as we see the two of them together still watching over us.

In addition to his parents, William and Edna Kenealy, and his brother Bill, John was preceded in death by Louise’s parents, Marvin and Miriam Juza and “nephew-in-law” Trevor Eck.  He leaves behind Louise, his life partner of 31 years; daughter and son-in-law Tracy and Jeff Stockwell; daughter Lisa Larson; first wife and mother of his daughters, Arlene Kenealy; grandsons Michael Carr, Christopher Larson, twins Alex and Brendan Stockwell; granddaughter and husband Lyndsay and Will Kresic and – Joy to the World! – great granddaughter Isabel Marin, who joined the family August 1.

John is also survived by his sister-in-law, Shirley Kenealy; nephews John Kenealy, wife Shana and son Chase; Bill Kenealy and wife Erica; and Tom Kenealy; “sisters-in-law” Elizabeth Reuter; Susan Ross, husband Don, son Spenser and daughter Marissa; Carol Eck, husband Jay and daughter Julia.

John has asked that, in lieu of flowers, you consider sharing God’s gifts with a contribution to your favorite charity.

Those who were fortunate to share some time with John are forever blessed!

Funeral Mass Monday August 22, 11:15AM at Church of the Assumption 20 East Ave, Fairport.

  1. When I think of John his sweet gentle demeanor comes to mind. He always had a joke to get our attention in person or long distance over the phone. We stayed with Louise and John while traveling a few years ago. We sure ate well Louise is a fantastic cook, John and Louise showed us many sights one being the farmers market I remember John even had a joke for the produce. Thank you for all the joy you brought Louise and our family. Love Susie ,Don,Spenser & Marissa

We were so blessed to have moved beside John and Louise . We have spent the passed few years living side by side. Through thick and thin, we have loved, laughed and supported each other. We were and still are quite sure this was God’s doing. We will miss John and the things he always said- catching us by surprise and making us laugh, every time. Happy trails John, until we meet again❤️??
