The angels welcomed Domenica (Mamie) Milazzo on August 5, 2022.  She was predeceased by her husband, John, of 61 years and siblings John Aloi, Carmelo Aloi, Anthony Aloi.  She is survived by her sisters Lucille Kaseman, Fran Olivett Holladay; children Deb Kovacic, John F. Milazzo Jr. (Lori), Alan Milazzo (Shannon);  grandchildren Chris Kovacic (Callie ), Katie Perez (Aaron), Justin Milazzo (Kristyne), Aaron Milazzo (Virginia), Rebekah Way (Tom), Liselle Milazzo (Graham), Christopher Milazzo, Emerson and Delaney Mayville; great grandchildren Eleanor and Eloise Kovacic, Asher, Xander and Kyler Perez, Justin (JJ), Johnnie and Katie Milazzo, Vida Milazzo, Hannah, Natalie and Olivia Way and many nieces and nephews.

Mamie was a thoughtful and caring person.  She was a devoted wife and mother, and she made the care of her family the focus of her life.  Her homemaking and entertaining skills were unsurpassed.  She was the ultimate caretaker, and one never left her house hungry.  In her elder years she completed her most important caregiving task of all, supporting and nursing her husband, John, in their home during his final illness.

While raising her family, she also managed a successful career as a cafeteria manager in the East Irondequoit school district for many years.  This role gave her ample opportunity to hone her cooking and baking skills.  She was an avid baker and would bake an extraordinary number of cookies at the holidays to be distributed to family and friends.  She became a master at baking and decorating themed cakes for the grandchildren which included, cookie monster cakes, princess cakes, sports themed (Buffalo Bills) cakes and many others.  She derived the most pleasure from giving to others.

Her other passions included crafting and crocheting.  In her later life she joined an active group of volunteers from the Perinton Recreation Center who created and distributed hats, gloves, and scarves to needy school children.  There are also countless baby blankets in the Rochester area, and beyond, that were crafted by Mamie.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held on September 3rd at 9:00 at St. Louis Church, 64 S. Main Street, Pittsford, NY 14534.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center located at 2652 Ridgeway Ave., Rochester, NY 14626 or a charitable organization of your choice.
