Sally Jackson Bohne passed away on October 22, 2022. Sally was the treasured wife to her husband, Peter, for 55 years and the wonderful mother to Kristine (Don) Pencille, Stacey (Rick) Hengsterman, Michael (Meagen) Bohne, and Kate (Jason) Munzinger. She was the proud grandmother to Zachary, Jackson, Andrew, Alex, Lauren, Ryan, Peter, Evan and Maddie. Sally was pre-deceased by her parents, Robert and Lucille Jackson, and her brothers, Bob and Tom Jackson.
Sally and Pete were Ridgewood High School sweethearts. They were loving, committed partners who always prioritized the fun. During their marriage, they moved 6 times across the country, gaining a new kid at nearly every stop. At each new place, they also made close friends who are still in contact with the family today. Sally always made sure they had their S&P date nights and traveling adventures, and they both tried not to ever miss a high school reunion.
Sally was the best mom. Her family recipes, holiday traditions and words of wisdom will be missed greatly and always carried forward. In her memory, her kids promise they will always pull over if they get tired driving and always watch out for black ice.
While Sally spent the first half of her married life managing the household, the next half was spent as a working mom. Sally started out part-time as the volunteer coordinator at Hillside Children’s Center and finished her 25-year career as the Community Relations Manager. For 20 years in this position, she was the face and force of Hillside’s Special Santa program, which was always an enormous success that secured thousands of Christmas presents for children all across the Rochester region. She absolutely loved doing this work.
Sally’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Creekstone Memory Care and UR Medicine Hospice for their friendship, care and kindness during the last several months.
Sally’s life will be celebrated Tuesday November 1, 2022 4-6PM at the Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home (Egypt Location) 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Road, Fairport. Funeral Mass Wednesday November 2, 2022 11AM at Church of the Transfiguration 50 W Bloomfield Rd, Pittsford.

Sally, I am drinking a Manhatten and tears are streaming down my face as I read your obituary. I am so sad and miss you. Bruce and I always had so much fun with you and Pete when you lived in Malvern. Even though you were only here for five years, the four of us stayed in touch for the next 25 years! I knew I had met a true friend when we met at Mothers Morning Out many years ago. My thoughts are with Pete and your beautiful family. Rest in Peace, Sally.
Always a great time at the Phillips house. It is so great how you four remained friends. Mom adored you.

I am so sad to learn of Sally’s passing. Sally lived on Main Ext with me at Averett Jr College 1965-66. We became great friends. She came to my wedding in 1970 and we did not see each other again until a few years ago while I visited my brother in Fairport. We did keep in touch at Christmas. I am so blessed to have visited with her then. Pete, she loved you so much back then… and for the rest of your lives together! My deepest sympathies to you and your family! May God’s comforting arms be around you and sustain you at this time! Sally, you were a blessing in my life! Judy
