Catherine Carol Cafalone, 79 of Fishers, NY passed away peacefully on December 15, 2022. She was born on April 15, 1943 in Oswego, New York. She is pre-deceased by her parents Joseph and Catherine Clark of Oswego; sister; Joanne Maniccia (Joseph) and brothers; William (Diane) and John. Carol is survived by her husband and life partner David to whom she was married for 58 years; sons Kevin, Daniel and Brian; grandsons Caleb (Brittney) and Reed and great grandson Carter.
Carol was a kind and tender soul who was happiest when she was in the company of her grandchildren. She took joy in simple pleasures like observing wildlife, watching the snow fall, playing with her cats and conversing with friends and family. She had a big heart for kids and seniors. As a teenager she gave David double helpings of ice cream from a candy store she worked at while in high school. She was a nurturing mother but she wasn’t afraid to use the famous, “Soap in your mouth” technique to quell bad words spoken by her kids. lol. Holidays were a special time and her red sauce was as good as it gets. In addition to being a dedicated wife and mother, Carol worked as a residential care manager at Cloverwood Senior Living; gift shop manager at Genessee Hospital and Hallmark. She also supported the family restaurant. As a volunteer for Caring Hearts Companion, she took pleasure in listening to the life stories of the elderly. She was fond of wildlife and gardening and in her earlier years enjoyed tennis, swimming and skiing. Carol was also active in her church, where she served as treasurer for a period of time.
Carol’s family would like to thank all members of the healthcare field, especially her lifelong doctor and the home health nurses of UR Medicine of Ontario and Yates County that provided her with care over the last few weeks. To our family and friends that have shown us so much support…..Thank you
A celebratory service will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 11:00am at White Haven Memorial All Seasons Chapel. The service will be presided over by Carol’s good friend, Reverend Ann Francis, formerly of Unity Church of Greater Rochester.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, Golisano Children’s Hospital or Wilmot Cancer Institute.

I remember Carol so well from our bridge groups in the 70’s, when all our children were young. She was such fun, with a ready laugh and a smile for everyone. Over the years I would see her occasionally and she remembered me, even though many years had elapsed. I will remember her with fondness. I’m so very sorry for your loss.
