Mary Catherine Molz (Chamberlain)
On Monday, January 2, 2023, Mary passed away peacefully after a long year battling various illnesses. Predeceased by her husband David Molz, Father and Mother Lloyd and Catherine Chamberlain, and brother Robert Chamberlain. Mary is survived by her daughter Karen (Tyler) Lynch, grandsons Tyler and Grayson Hignett, as well as her sister Eva Gasiewicz, stepdaughter and three granddaughters, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mary, Mary Catherine, Mary Kay or “Casey”, as she was affectionately known to many friends, was born in Batavia, New York and was the baby sister to her brother Robert and sister Eva. Mary Kay attended Notre Dame High School in Batavia, then obtained her bachelors from Nazareth College, and her master’s in teaching from SUNY Geneseo. Mary Kay taught for a brief time at Brooks Hill Elementary School in Fairport before focusing her time and attention to being a devoted mom and housewife, while also supporting her husband’s family business. Mary Kay was active in the community through Rochester Women of Rotary and Pet Assisted Therapy programs at Lollypop Farm. As part of the Rotary, she was the treasurer and led the sewing group which made blankets/quilts and other items for Rochester area children’s hospitals and other local nonprofits. She also spent time raising funds for and volunteering her time at the Rochester Rotary Sunshine Campus in Rush, New York.
Tyler and Grayson remember most having sleepovers and road trips to Crackle Barrel and picking out candy sticks. Of course, hanging out with Grandma (or “gram-cracker”) also involved enjoying Lego Masters or any other movie that meant staying up late! The thing that impressed us the most was Grandma’s drives in the winter to Florida! Nothing would stop her from planning and coordinating her drive down and back. And who could forget Grandma’s love for the Buffalo Bills?! The dogs appreciated the biscuit rewards for touchdowns and field goals.
Most of all though, my Mom was known for her gardening, cooking, and many sewing talents. Anyone who knows her well has had the pleasure of enjoying her amazing pumpkin and zucchini bread from homegrown pumpkins and zucchini, or (at one time) award winning pasta sauce from home grown tomatoes! Mom was always cooking new meals or especially desserts… or as my boys called them, “Grandma’s crappy desserts”, because they were always enjoyed so she had to try again and make more!! As for her sewing, several years ago, she began cross-stitching Christmas stocking for the grandchildren and other nieces and nephews. These stockings became a treasured tradition for the family to receive.
Calling Hours Friday January 13, 2023 4-6PM at the Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home (Egypt Location) 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Road, Fairport. Funeral Service Saturday January 14, 2023 10AM at White Haven Memorial Park All Seasons Chapel 210 Marsh Road, Pittsford.

Mary Kay was a wonderful neighbor and friend. She will be greatly missed by many.
Mary Kay was my friend from first Grade at St Joseph’s School. We walked home from school daily and I would stop at St Jerome’s Hospital where he mom manned the switchboard. We later joined the McCauley League and volunteered at the hospital. So happy to have reunited with her at out 60th ND reunion. Rest in peace my childhood friend. Sincere condolences to family and friends.

RIP Mary Kay. I am a former 2nd grade student of your mother from so many years ago. I have a number of fond memories of this time including babysitting the classroom guina pigs. Sending ❤️❤️❤️ your way.
Our thoughts are with Mary Kay’s family and friends at this sad time.
I used to bowl with Mary on Friday mornings She was a lot fun. A very nice person. I’m so sorry for your loss.
Very sad news. I got to know Mary Kay through my husband, who was her nephew. We always enjoyed our visits with her when we were in the Buffalo area. She was such a wonderful person. She always remembered our kids at Christmas. They were lucky enough to receive one of her Christmas stockings. They are very treasured possessions. It’s always hard to say goodbye. We will have our good memories to hold on to. Love to the family.
