Sad to hear of Ken’s passing, we communicated for many years via amateur radio and exchanged many stories. I will miss hearing him say W 2 Uniform Alpha Delta.

For the 70th Anniversary of the Rochester VHF Group (the Amateur Radio Club that he was a founding member of in 1949), we provided certificates to all operators who participated in the flagship January on-the-air event. Ken personally autographed each and every certificate. That year, that club won all three major operating events; a feat that had previously never been accomplished by a single club. When I heard of his passing, I looked at his signature on that 70th Anniversary certificate and bid him a silent “farewell, my friend.” He was truly one of the good gentlemen in this world.

I met Ken in 1969 when I went to work in the application test center at Gleason Works. Eventually he became my mentor and friend while we worked together on vehicle sound testing and developing test equipment. Ken was a talented electrical engineer and I feel he was a big part of setting me on my career. Rest in peace, you will be surely be missed.

Hi from Arizona! We just learned about Ken’s passing from Nancy and Fred Smith. We have wonderful memories of Ken and Elinor and all the Evans family from the Fairport Methodist Church. Patty was our world class babysitter for several years and we got to know the family better through her. THANK YOU, PATTY! We were honored to share in several family parties and we always admired the family camaraderie. Ken and Elinor were always caring, supportive friends! We send our love to all of the Evans’s!!!
