Gary enjoyed life to the fullest. He was happiest surrounded by his family, friends and especially his wife and children. He loved spending his summers on Canandaigua Lake and his free time up at camp hunting with friends. He was a beloved coach to many over the years with Fairport Little League and Perinton Youth Hockey. He loved to entertain and keep those around him always laughing. His generosity touched more people than we will ever know and tremendously affected the lives of those he knew and loved. Gary and his larger than life personality will be greatly missed by all.
Celebration of Life (come and go Open House) to be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at The Lake House on Canandaigua, 770 S. Main Street, Canandaigua, NY 14424.
As Gary would do, please consider an anonymous donation to a charity of your choice.

Gary was one of the most kindest and generous person I’ve ever known. His passing leaves a huge hole in the hearts of many and this community. Love you man…
It is very sad to loseGary at such a early age. I have seen him grow up as a child , watched him play sports, and then grow into a successful young man. Gary was always happy and joking around with others. Gary, RIP, you will be missed!

So unexpected to hear of Gary’s passing. I worked with him over many years and I could write a book of all the stories and memories of my experiences with him. From stock car racing at Evans Mills Speedway to working with him in his telecom years. I’ll miss you Gary and thank you so much for some great memories!! To his family – I,am so sorry for your loss

Gary, you were always Max’s #1 fan! Your generosity and kindness (and burgers!) will always be a fond memory for our family- I hope there are many displays of fireworks in heaven that remind you of Max!
My heart breaks hearing this news. Gary was such a fun person to be around. He always knew how to make people smile. He truly had a heart of gold and so much more. My thoughts and prayers are with Lanna, Wanda, and the rest of the family. God bless.
I did not know Gary very well, but I did work with him
a few years @ RCI. He was super generous and a VERY funny
guy.. At a convention in Pittsburgh one time, he simply
would NOT let me buy a drink. He covered the tab for a lot
of us. Thanks for the laughs, Gary. You will be missed.
I met him when I was 16yrs old…he came from NY and I came from Fla. We were both mouthy and sarcastic and we became fast friends. Our families were close for a season until geography separated us but the Polisseni’s were planted in our hearts. All of them are/were generous with all of their being.
I love you Gary and will carry you forever in my heart. We will miss you until we see you again. We always think we have more time…I’m grateful Gary knew he was loved by so many, but I wish I could have heard his laugh one more time.
My deepest sympathies to the Polisseni Family. Like his brother, Gary was larger than life. May he rest in eternal peace.
Wanda and the Polisseni family my sincere condolences. My heart breaks for you sending love and prayers.
Sorry to hear about Gary. He was a good man. You both made a good couple.
Gary was our next-door neighbor for a number of years on Persimmon Dr… I’ll always remember him for being kind and generous, especially to our young kids. And for his laugh and sarcastic sense of humor… And for the Gator he drove around the neighborhood every Halloween. He was one-of-a-kind. RIP.

Prayers to gary’s family Generous and funny. So sorry for your loss
We grew up together and didn’t stay in touch, but Gary will always be “Tex” to me. I saw him in a cowboy hat one time and that’s how he got his name. One time. Once! I remember him always laughing and relaxed with everybody he was around, even at a young age. I know he will be missed. Rest in peace.
I respected Gary so much for his love of the kids he coached, I coached Webster Hockey against him and we had many fun games between us. We always talked before and after the games and had some time during Deer season to have a couple drinks with him, as we both always scheduled our games around Opening of deer season. My sincere condolences to his entire family.
So sorry to hear of Gary’s passing. Prayers to the family.
We are very sorry and thinking of Wanda and the polisseni family
Gary had a smile and demeanor that could bring the room to attention. He made fun and brought laughter to those around him, much like his brother Greg His distinguished look was very much like his dad. He was generous like his mom and light hearted like his sister Val. I never knew his sister Kim but I’m sure there was a piece of her in him too. Nick always reminds me so much of Gary and Laura has his smile. Our blessings and support go out to the entire family.
My deepest condolences to Wanda and the Polisseni. Family
Keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers
How very sad .. i had the pleasure of working with Gary in our 20s. Starting our careers in telecom . My condolences to all his family and friends . Taken much to young .
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Polisseni Family.
We will remember Gary’s laugh and love of life!
To be honest, I didn’t know Gary’s past success and I didn’t know his future plans. I only knew him in the present. I drove him around town for the past year and let me tell you… he couldn’t hear everything but we’d talk about anything. Its true he likes a good joke, but he really loves to see us smile. On our last ride is one I’ll never forget.. I texted him ‘Pulling in’. As I pulled up next to him.. he typed in his phone and just watched me as he stood outside. I received a text from him saying ‘good for you.’ It was so simple I laughed and we both just cracked up over nothing for almost a whole car ride home. That night he looked me square in the eyes, gave me a tip I tried to refuse, and walked inside like he couldn’t look back.. I wanted to tell him a small joke but decided to tell him next time bc he seemed focused on getting inside. (I let him get the last laugh that night).. well… I’ll never get to tell him the dumb/ corny joke and now I realize he knew this was our goodbye.. I just with I had known. Listen everyone, I’ve known him the shortest amount of time; I simply know him as Gary, the guy who liked my driving, shared jokes, and always bought my wife Pizza as a thank you for having me leave home to drive him. I love you Gary, You’re my favorite rider whether you hear me or not!
P.s. Gary.. don’t ask me if I’m available tonight be you already know the answer! Love ya bud
Our deepest sympathies to the Polisseni Family. Heartbreaking to hear this news. Coach Polisseni was such a great man and so very generous with his time. We were very fortunate to have known him and what an incredible influence he was on those he coached. Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers.

What a tremendous and heartbreaking loss for your family. You have my deepest sympathies.
I hold so many wonderful memories of Gary. He was such a loving, giving, funny and kind man. He could fill a room with his laughter and love of life. He was truly a gift to this world.
You are all in my thoughts as you navigate this difficult time.
To my, handsome cousin who will be cracking people up in heaven, rest in peace. To Wanda and family my prayers are with you all.
Laura and Nick- The memory that made a lasting impression and always stands out the most is one evening when we were out to dinner with your parents in East Rochester and the conversation was not of jokes but very heartfelt and open. He told us the story of how much he wanted kids and how proud he was when you were born and of the people you’ve later become. Remember that God was and is always with you all from beginning to end.
Sorry for the Families loss. Gary was our Grandson, Zachary’s, Hockey Coach in the Perinton Youth Hockey Organization. We traveled from Oswego to Buffalo and many places in between, and always enjoyed the games. Gary was an excellent coach and among the most important things taught was ‘good sportsmanship’. It was our privilege to know Gary, and I’m sure he will be missed by many!
Thank you Gary for your generosity for purchasing my handicapped van. I enjoyed good quality of life to be able to go places due to your kindness. I will never forget your beautiful wedding which I took part in. You will always be missed and never forgetting. Rest In Heavenly Peace Amen.. Uncle Joe.
My prayers of comfort for you and your family Wanda. May The Lord minister to your hearts as we mourn and celebrate Gary’s life.
Dear Wanda,
My heart is so saddened for the loss of Gary. Remembering Greg on this day. May God hold you up with the loss of your two amazing boys.
Gary and I were friends in kindergarten at Seneca School in Irondequoit. We had many fun days playing after the half-day of school that year, but we went to different schools for 1st grade and we lost touch. He’s never really left me in those 55 or so years, always a youthful little boy with an infectious smile, that based on the pictures here, he certainly maintained. He did as our Creator asks of us – to give of oneself to others – so, job well done old friend.
For his family, you are all in my prayers during this tragic time of loss.
