Wayne Eric Budd, aka WEB, aka Pop, aka G-Pa, aka Uncle Wayne, passed peacefully over to another plane on July 14, 2023. Born in Rochester to Clarisa and Charles Budd, and raised in Brighton with his siblings Cynthia, Neil, Gary, Stevie, Sharon, David, and Bobby.

Wayne was a renaissance man, as his best friend Stu always says. He was ‘The Mayor of Park Avenue’ as THE Hot Dog Man, owned and operated Superb Catering with his wife Regina, worked security at events for years, and was a member of the IATSE Local 25 Stagehands and Local 52 Motion Picture Studio Mechanics.

Wayne was a music man – he WAS the concert – from small venues or finding a drum circle, to going on tour or getting on stage at Woodstock, it was going to be a good time if you saw Wayne at the show. He loved going to the Rochester Public Market, and he shared his radiant smile with all who he saw. As a trained chef, he loved to cook for all occasions, finding joy as he shared the gift of a meal with others, and you could always find him at his happy place grilling in all 4 seasons.

Over all of this,  he didn’t love anything as much as his wife, Regina. Wayne’s spirit is survived by and carried on by his wife Regina McCadden Budd, his son Matthew Budd, Matthew’s wife Kimberly Budd, his niece and nephews Meghann Ferreri, Michael Ferreri and Mitch Budd, his sister in law Ellen McCadden, his grandchildren Eleanor Brooklyn Budd, Ellison Charles Budd and Emary Blue Budd, and his cat, OTT. Wayne is also survived by his extended family and countless friends.

Calling Hours will be held at Richard H. Keenan funeral home (Egypt location), 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Rd, Fairport NY on Thursday July 20, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00pm. Burial Service will be Friday July 21, 2023, 11:00am at Holy Angels Cemetery 33 Caledonia Ave (Scottsville-Mumford Road, Route 383) Scottsville, NY. (Alprazolam online) Family and friends are encouraged to attend both calling hours and burial service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Friends of the Rochester Public Market (https://www.marketfriends.org/give) or The African American Diabetes Association (https://www.africanamericandiabetes.org/donate).  Donations can be made on their websites.

Wayne will be remembered by many, and in these memories we will eternally lift his spirit in the sky.

“Big-ups. Peace and Love.”

  4. The only consolation I can muster is to know that Wayne and his smile are everlivin’ ! Jah brings Wayne home so he can soar with the Angels once again. Our lives and the Rochester music scene were made better by Wayne’s ever-present smile and positive vibrations! Who knew his last scene would be at O-Neh-Da Vineyard for the iGNite Reggae Band performance last Sunday! Who knew he would be flying Home shortly thereafter?! Fare thee well Brother Wayne. Your presence on this earthship will be missed eternally. One Love Bredren! Rest in Peace until i’m’i meet again!

Wayne, we had some great times and a lot of laughs particularly back in the 80s working on the stage crew at all the local concerts from the Rochester War Memorial to the old Silver Stadium and everything in between.
Your infectious smile and laughter made every day better no matter how exhausted we were on some of those outdoor concerts and back to back shows we did.
I’ll never forget your calm demeanor and approach to everything going on around you.
I’ll always remember you as the coolest of dudes.
RIP my friend & thank you for the times we shared.

As with all of us, I was in total disbelief when I received Regina’s tearful phone call that Wayne had passed away. It broke my heart to hear her cry. Wayne was one of those people that I considered to be immortal…he was always here and I believed always would be. He was a kind man, loved Regina deeply, was a loving father to Matthew, and was so proud of his many accomplishments. In addition, he had a positive and supportive influence on his niece and nephew, Meghann and Michael (“McVin”). Thanks to Michael’s mother Ellen, and Wayne and Regina, he pursued culinary arts and became a great success in Philadelphia. He loved his wonderful parents as well as his siblings and nephew, and all of Regina’s family.

Wayne’s culinary abilities were outstanding and it amazed me how he jus whipped up the best meals that were healthy and delicious. I remember when he had his hot dog cart on Park Avenue and his famous “Bite It” T-shirts, listing toppings for the hot dogs. I wore mine until the lettering cracked on the fabric and fell off. After this venture, he opened “The Kitchen” on Clinton Avenue and started “Superior Catering” with Regina. Making a career change, he then worked security and set designs and decoration. Wayne was truly a man of many talents.

I met Wayne and Regina at the infamous Cedargrove Bar and always enjoyed their warmth and the chemistry between them. I moved to California many years ago but maintained contact through regular phone calls and emails. Our conversations are long, meaningful and fun. I hadn’t seen Wayne in many years but spoke with him last year on his birthday, which he shared with Matthew, and he sounded just as cheerful as always.

I had so much fun with Wayne and Regina, including eating fried chicken after last call at Smittey’s Birdland on Plymouth Avenue, while wearing our gigantic fur coats and looking like streetwise characters. One of the best times I had with them was at a club in Charlotte to see “The Bus Boys” perform. It was a fantastic night and I’m reminded of it when I watch ’48 Hours” and hear their awesome song, “the boys are Back in Town”. Wayne and Regina included me in many family gatherings, such as swimming in his parents’ pool when i was the last one to get ready, only to see Charlie and Clarissa’s Doberman, Malcolm, standing guard and growling at the top of the stairs with a beam of light shining across his eyes. While staying with my mom, we were invited to go to brother George’s “cottage”, which was actually a palace on the lake, and were invited to attend their family Christmas celebration.

Wayne was a fine person…funny, kind and creative, and I’m proud to have known him. Like all of us, I’ll never get used to the fact that he’s really gone. My heart goes out to Regina, Matthew, the Budd and McCadden families, and his countless friends. I know we’ll meet again someday in the Great Beyond.
