John D. McCallum, 75, of Fairport passed away peacefully on December 9th, 2023 at the Serenity Home in Victor after a long battle with cancer.
John was predeceased by his son John Jr. and parents Jack and Polly.
John is survived by his wife of 27 years, Corazon McCallum, Children Sherri, Jason (Charlotte), Joseph, Patrick (Jessica), Kate, Aron and step daughter Krystal (Maximo).
John is also survived by his 16 grandchildren: Brittnee, Charissa, Madi, Elizabeth, Mckalya, Abigail, Ellie, Ayden, Mia, Carli, Natalie, Camaron, Collin, Cuyler, Romeo, Xavier, 4 great grandchildren and his beloved cat Chester.
John was born on January 19th 1948 in Elmira, NY and spent his early childhood in Lawrenceville, PA with his parents.
John spent many years as a skilled mechanic at American Can Company in Fairport before his long career at Kodak where he retired after 20 years of service.
He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed spending time out in the woods hunting and trapping. His other hobbies included fishing and spending time working around his farm. He was a member of the Springwater American Legion & Gun Club.
John was a kind and gentle soul who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was an active member of his church and was known for his strong faith and devotion to God. He was a generous and giving person who was always looking for ways to help those in need.

Friends can attend calling hours on Thursday December 14th, from 4 to 6pm at Richard H, Keenan Funeral home (Egypt Location) 7501 Pittsford, Palmyra Road, Fairport. Funeral Mass on Friday December 15th, 11am at Christ Church, 141 East Avenue, Rochester. Burial to follow at White Haven Memorial Park 210 Marsh Road, Pittsford.

Im so sorry to hear about the passing of John. We had many good times walking around Corning, dinners, casino trips, and visiting our campground. Most of all I’ll miss him calling to sing Happy Birthday.
