Elaine Rose Bucci of Fairport, NY, born February 9, 1941, passed away suddenly on Wednesday January 31, 2024. Elaine is predeceased by her parents, Albert and Anita Boezi, and by her loving husband Joseph Charles Bucci Sr. Elaine is survived by a large loving family that includes Lisa (Roy) Hinkley, Robert Bucci, Christine (Michael) Coniglio, Dan (Janet) Bucci, Cheryl (Paula Cavelli) Bucci, Kimberly Dissen, Joseph Jr. (Nicole) Bucci, her brother Allen (Sue) Boezi, 15 amazing grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Loved by many more in the family including her loving sister-in law Marti Cotter, nieces and nephews. Elaine had many friends from all periods of her life – all still important to her and an integral part of her life. A cherished part of her life was Red Jacket Yacht Club where Elaine and Joe had many years of happiness camping with their most favorite people. Elaine was an accomplished interior designer with a long, successful career owning her own businesses and designing homes for people all over Western New York, and Erie, Pennsylvania. Elaine was very strong in her spirituality and her dedication to Stephen Ministries where she helped people through faith-based counseling. While we are extremely saddened by her loss, we are all at peace knowing Elaine is resting with her greatest love, Joe, and they are on the best cruise together sailing off into the sunset.

I never met Elaine but my mom called her a very good friend. She must have been a very special person. Sorry for your loss.

I looked up the definition of a true friend and it says” usually those who offer you support, improve your quality of life, promote self-confidence, provide honesty and unconditional love, and help you progress mentally.” Elaine did all of those thing, not only for me but for many people whose lives she touched. I learned to be more open and expressive from being friends with Elaine. I met Elaine in our first grief group, not long after we’d both lost our spouses. Hers after many loving years and significant health issues, mine after a very unexpected, abrupt accident. Even though our experiences were quite different, Elaine and I seemed to click right away and drifted into a bond because of our grief. She also joined the Facebook group that I’m an admin for and became a great advocate for new members and the activities we planned, including our bookclub. We began traveling together. She introduced me to Sanders, Cayuga Lake, Celebrity cruises, AAA Solo Club, Lewiston and we planned on many other adventures to come. We were roomies on our ABC Cruise in March ’23 (such fun and a milestone for us both) and planned to be again for our fall cruise to Canada ’24. She was such an adventurer and enjoyed traveling with her family and friends so much. Elaine was such a phenomenal person, remarkable, caring, open, kind and just a rare, exceptional human being. She made everyone feel welcome and respected. As our relationship developed, we shared many stories, life challenges and hopes and dreams. She was always there to listen, to share her thoughts and help me through any “bump” in the road. I hope I was somewhat the same for her. I hope I can be a fraction of a friend she was to me. Elaine loved life, her family and friends so much. She was always thinking about how to reach out to another person, a true gift she had. She loved her family and their gatherings deeply. I shall greatly miss her and calling to chat, share, or plan an impromptu dinner out . She has. gifted me with so much by being my friend. We just spoke a couple of times this past week and she commented on how we need to live our lives to the fullest. I know she is finally with her beloved Joe again, but I shall miss her so dearly.

    Dan:
So sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. My mom (Mary Ellsworth) knew your parents, and if I’m not mistaken, worked for your father back in the 70’s.
Mom and I both send our sympathies to you and your family.

  12. So very sorry for your loss. She was a special woman and we love her very much.

My most sincere love to Elaine’s dear family. I was a classmate of Joe’s all the years thru schools and found Elsine to be a most friendly and loving lady. Memories will remain with all who knew her and Joe…such a Great Couple!
