Luise Wegner Brewer Zuch passed away on May 30, 2024, following a short illness.  She was born in Krielow, Germany on August 30, 1945, and immigrated to West Pittston, Pennsylvania in 1956 with her parents, Gustav and Maria Wegner, and her older sisters, Ruth and Doni.  In 1959, the family moved to St. Joseph, Michigan.  During an internship while she was still a high school student, Luise discovered a passion for radiology and went on to a successful career in the field, culminating as a technical trainer to users of advanced radiology equipment across the US.

Luise is survived by her devoted husband, Adolf, whom she first met when they were both teenagers but was separated from by time and distance until their reunion in 2009, and by his children, Christina and Timothy and their families; by her stepchildren from her first marriage, Leslae and Duane; by her sisters, Ruth and Doni; and by her nephews Roland, Jim, Erich, Karl and Paul, and many great-nephews and -nieces.

Luise will be terribly missed but fondly remembered for her gentle demeanor, her willingness to offer support to family and friends, and for her consistently positive attitude, even in the face of tremendous personal challenges.  Luise loved to travel, garden, cook, and bake, and enjoyed hosting dinner parties for her many friends. She was a talented shopper who displayed impeccable taste, particularly for clothing in the pink and purple color family.

The family thanks the staff at the Fairport Baptist Home and Highland Hospital who provided care to Luise.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Christoper & Dana Reeve Foundation to further their mission to cure spinal cord injury by advancing innovative research, and improve the quality of life for individuals and families impacted by paralysis.

Calling Hours Friday June 7, 2024 11AM-12PM at White Haven Memorial Park All Seasons Chapel 210 Marsh Road, Pittsford. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at noon.

Luise was my teacher and mentor when I started the Radiology Program years ago. She was a wonderful kind person. I had 45 years in the medical field X-ray thanks to her advice and patience with me. May Luise be at peace with our Lord. Monica Mercer
