Lisa Ellen Sells, 65, of Fairport, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 14, 2024. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Margaret Guarino and x-husband Raymond Sells who was always an important part of her life. She is survived by her daughters Jennifer (Will) Sells and grandson Harrison; Rachel (Joel Sone) Sells and grandson Raymond, sons Adam Sells and Ian Sells; sisters Laurene (Butch) Johnston; Karen (Brian Juneau) Guarino; niece Amy Johnston; nephew Dan Johnston; several great-nieces; great-nephews; cousins; and her dearly loved “bonus family” step-granddaughters Yassyel (Shaair) Codner and step-great-granddaughter Eva; Aliyah Sone; and step-grandson Alex Sone.
After graduating from Fairport High School Lisa attended college to pursue a career as a medical technologist. Her desire to be hands-on in helping others coupled with her career choice led her to work as a home health aide and later as a patient care technician at Strong Memorial Hospital. But her most important and cherished role in life was that of grandmother to Raymond and Harrison.
Lisa was an avid reader throughout her life. Her hobbies included cross-stitching and jewelry making – many of her creations now treasured remembrances. She had a soft spot for dogs and cats that needed a home. When football season started, she rooted for her favorite team – the Buffalo Bills. She was witty, kind, spirited and remarkably resilient. But what stood out the most about Lisa was her “big heart” – a quality she was best known for by family, friends and co-workers and demonstrated throughout her life in so many ways.
Though she struggled with depression for many years and later substance abuse, she was able to transform her life into a figure of strength and sobriety. Her faith and family were her beacons. We admired her courage to speak openly of her struggles. It was her desire to help those experiencing the same to know there was hope. Her life was a testament to the power of laughter, love, faith and forgiveness. She will be missed beyond words and will forever be present in our hearts.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
