Maurice L. Rasbeck,” Morey” Fairport: May 4, 1932 – September 10, 2024

Predeceased by his wife of 59 years Christianna “Ann”, Survived by brothers Leon (Jane) Rasbeck, Dwight Rasbeck, and many nieces and nephews. Morey was born and raised in Wolcott, New York.  He attended Red Creek High School and SUNY Oswego before relocating to Fairport, New York.  He worked for Fairport Municipal and retired in 1991. He was a long-time member and was a member of the board of The Silver Bay Association on Lake George, actively volunteered with Advent House and School of the Holy Childhood.

Memorial Services to be held Saturday September 14, 2024 at 11am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 48 Perrin St., Fairport, NY 14450. The Service will also be livestreamed at https://www.youtube.com/live/AKyB_wVtZoM?si=ffYOwJDRm6FMWLny A luncheon will follow at the church.  Donations may be made to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Memorial Fund in memory of Morey.

    A truly kind and wonderful man, As a child I knew him as Uncle Morey, He was a very dear friend of our family, he will be missed by all who knew him.

    I have many fond memories of Morey, He will live on in my heart for as long as I live.

    I worked with Morey for many years at Fairport Municipal. He was truly a fine and wonderful man who helped many people and everyone loved him. A true gentleman always and well respected by everyone. I knew his wife Ann briefly before she passed and she was so very friendly and I know he loved her deeply. RIP Morey!!

    Uncle Morey will be deeply missed. Much love & found memories. Remembering days spent with him and my Aunt Annie at Silver Lake & having weekend sleep overs at their huge house on 4th Ave. God has called you home to reunite with your soulmate. I am sure those from the Miller family were happy to greet you when you reached the gate! Much love.

    Morey and I worked together on the Silver Bay Association maintenance committee, overseeing 1600 acres and 72 buildings [and more] . We became friends that lasted many years after I left SBA. Morey and Anne were great friends and mentors . Morey was kind and generous and a wise contributor to the organizations he served. The “Mayor” [of his Fairport neighborhood] will be dearly missed.

    Morey and Ann were faithful friends of my parents through their volunteer work at Silver Bay. Our children called them aunt and uncle and played card games for hours with them, Gert and Tom. Precious man who will be missed by many but we’re comforted that he is with our Lord Jesus.
