Danny, you were something else. So damn funny. Always made me feel better just being around you. Your smile and laughter was so infectious (this is typically where you would make some sort of comment.. :)).
I’ve known you all but the first couple years of my life. Growing up together in Brambleridge, Cub Scouts, sports, etc.; all good times. I’m guessing God took you to join Him now because He needed some laughter around.
RIP my friend, life well lived. You will be missed.

Dan you will be remembered as a legend. It’s inevitable, it was just who and what you were destined to be. and it was so natural for you. People were drawn to you in every aspect of your life.

I knew you inside and outside of work, it didn’t matter which, you treated everyone like an equal and they would have moved mountains for you.

Gone way to soon but you will forever live in so many peoples memories and hearts, your kids and grandkids will know all about the legend of Dusty.

He could quote the entire movie Jaws, when you watch that classic remember the classic life of Dan. “Hooper drives the boat, Chief”

From the time I met Danny through Bill when we were kids playing little league baseball to the High School days when we became brothers as members of Alpha Beta Phi fraternity I knew we would be friends for life. Then Danny married my good college friend Sue, and I knew they would build a great family. Danny always provoked good thought, gave an insightful phase and of course gave us all a chance to laugh. Truly one of the good guys in this world and will be forever remembered and missed !

From your neighbors way back on Towpath Trail in Fairport, NY, Godspeed. Our deepest condolences and prayers of strength to the whole family.

  5. The IAOP family, as well as the industry, is reeling.

Dan was a force of nature, a driver of doing well by doing good, and a really wonderful human being. Seeing him enter a meeting room would make all involved look up and say, “It’s Dan!”

My sincere condolences to his family and friends. I am so sorry for your loss.

Dan, you’ll be missed but never forgotten.

Danny, as we all knew him in elementary school, always had something funny to say, and always with that impish grin and that head of blonde hair. We were in several classes together starting way back in Johanna Perrin/Brooks Hills and throughout HS. We kept in touch through social media on a regular basis. He was a friend to all and so very non-judgemental

Dan’s loss is a void felt by many. Like Warren said, God probably called you home because he needed you there to bring love and laughter and maybe some guidance on other things.

My heartfelt condolences to his beautiful family.

I am at a loss for words. There are a few people you meet in life that you form a lasting friendship with. Since moving away from Fairport, I haven’t seen Dan in years. However, we have kept in touch regularly with calls and social posts. Dan is truly a unique individual who never met a stranger. I’ll miss him.

Dan was a dear colleague, friend and a very nice human being. When it came to community efforts, Dan was a natural. He had a different perspective for a lot of things and he never hesitated to voice his views. At work, he looked at issues from a customer’s angle and his solutions were spot on, every time. His conversations with me always started with “I don’t know what you feel about this issue, but I strongly feel that……….”. I immediately knew he is going to bring something controversial to me, but it will be certainly an important issue that required attention and his views and solutions would be the only way to go with! Dan – you will be certainly missed and I am sure you are already looking to do some community work even in heaven!!!! Rest well buddy.

Dan and I met back at a strategic conference in Italy (Rockefeller Foundation) where we were trying to figure out how to solve global unemployment. I was struck by his commitment to this idea and over our many years of association, I understood that it was a passion and not just a business thing for him. We teased each other about presentations we gave at the same conferences, and encouraged one another when we had great ideas – and he had a LOT of great ideas.

I’m so sad at this too-early passing and my sincere condolences go out to his family and close friends who are grieving.

Danny, I never saw you without a smile on your face. You always made me laugh and I am so glad that I caught up with you and met Bridget last Christmas. Lynn and I loved skiing with you at Bristol. My Dad loved watching football with you at Mark’s on Sundays. And I always thought of you when I passed your childhood house on Rt 250 driving to Eastview. You will be missed my friend. You and your family are in my prayers. XO

  15. Dan, wtf? You left us way to early buddy. Remember the time we rode our shitty Sportsters from DelRay down to Key West? OMG, such an epic journey. Good times indeed. I had so many more things I wanted to talk to you about, and so many more adventures planned. Life leaves us with so little time I guess. You will be dearly missed my friend.

  16. You were a role model, a good friend, and fellow mischief maker. I will miss you. Guess we’ll sail together some day in the heavens.

Unlike anyone I’ve ever known. I remember him rolling in to Rob’s cottage in a mini van always with a few kids in tow. I was intrigued and thought, who is this character with the diaper bag and car seat who captivates everyone with the best stories?? He certainly left his mark. My sincere condolences to his family and everyone who loved him.

Life is fragile, precious and short, Dans life was cut short. All his kids, grandkids and friends that will miss his presence and his smile forever. He loved the lake and being out on boats and being social and talking about the good old days when we were really young. I will never forget his first car a PINTO WAGON, we went everywhere in that car. We would put $3.00 in gas tank in the morning and seemed like we would drive forever. Then do the same thing the next morning as well. I love you DAN LANG, rest in peace. I will never forget you and will celebrate your life every year. I will tell stories that seem as then never end because I can and will. GUYER

D’Lang, I met you through Sager and had fun times at your place on the lake. Your were always so kind and welcoming. What I will never forget is when I was looking for a job, you went out of your way to help me. You barely knew me, but you helped me. I never forgot that and never will. Bridget, my heart goes out to you and his family. “Only the good die young,” unfortunately.

From the boardroom to the bait-shop, Dan was the most interesting person in any room he was in. He rooted for the underdog, and the unorthodox approach. He valued authenticity and was authentic as they come. His kindness was never flaunted, and around any campfire he was fluent in the language and a captivating storyteller. He gave me a chance and rooted for me every step of the way.
Gone all to soon, RIP my friend and “Fish where the fish are!”

A legend gone too early. I had the pleasure of working with Dan in my early days with Sutherland. He took me thru the major accounts in SGS at the time . He took the time out to help me understand the culture and expectations from Sales. Thank you Dan and I am sure you are ina better place. The heavens just got a rockstar in you. God bless.

I remember Dan fondly when he was my direct manager when I worked for a little company called The Sutherland Group in 1989 for a few months. Since then, of course, most of us know, he helped the company grow internationally and has impacted so many people. I stayed in touch with him over the years occasionally checking in to see how things were going, but nothing beats putting together your own cubicle furniture and working off of dot matrix printed papers with no computers while Y-corded in with Dan himself guiding your call flow. He was a special man to many.

  30. Danny one of my fondest memories were the Dannopalozo parties at Waterstreet Music Hall where you were an awesome, fun loving entertainer .

May you be at peace as God rest your soul.

Danny Lang, you always brought such joyful life to any gathering…I remember when you and your brother, Billie, would come to our house and join in the fun with our sons, Scotty, Mike, and Craig. Needless to say, I am heartbroken to know you’re no longer here as we have known you. But I bet you and Scotty are up there, greeting each other with love and laughter. May your soul rest in peace, dear Dan. We love you.
