Edward “Ned” Tongue, of Fairport, NY, passed away unexpectedly at age 50. He is survived by his loving parents, William and Nancy, sister Teri (Randy, deceased) Morris, brother Todd (Stephanie), niece Megan (Brian) Lomb and nephews: Matthew Tongue, and Brandon, Austin, and Jordan Morris and grandnieces: Cecelia and Sophia Lomb.

Ned graduated from RIT with a focus on criminal justice. He spent more than 25 years of his professional career in security and loss prevention.

Ned had an extraordinary sense of humor. He loved practical jokes, silly impressions, but mostly making others smile. He had a fierce love for family and friends and rarely said no to retail therapy. Ned was adored and will be missed by many.

So deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Ned. He grew up with our children and was especially close to our son Kenny. Ned was a beautiful child, always having fun, laughing, and surrounded by other kids. Our deepest condolences to Nancy, Bill and the entire Tongue Family. Love, Jean and Bruce Anderson and family.

I am so heartbroken to see this. He was always such a great person. He was one of my brothers best friends growing up so I knew him well in school but loved running in to him as an adult whenever I did. He always had his great infectious smile and always a jokester with a great heart. I am so sorry to all his family and friends. He was way too young and such a big loss for many. I’m truly so sorry🙏🏻💙 RiP Ned. You will be greatly missed. You already are. 💙😇🌟🙏🏻

Ned was a source of hilarity for as long as I can remember. We met in junior high and were always in home room together. What a way to start every day with Ned! As funny and charming as he was to anyone in his orbit, he also cared deeply about his friends and family. He was a loyal, dependable, and kind-hearted man. I know I’m not alone in saying I had the privilege of calling Ned a friend in this life. I hope his loved ones can find some comfort in knowing he was cherished by so many people and that his memory is indelible.

    My guy, Ned –

I can’t express the gratitude I feel for having had the chance to not only meet you, but to be a voice you respected and a friend. You’ve helped me so much as a counselor, I can’t even begin to explain it. In another life, we would’ve probably been best of friends. We both saw life the same. We both saw other people the same. We both loved old school hip-hop music. We also both shared a deep love for our Mothers (I met Mom today!). You’re an amazing person, even a better soul. I’m going to miss your absurdly stupid jokes and memes. From this moment forward I will forever try to make others smile and laugh, because that’s what Ned would do.

Thank you for being you and giving me a chance to help you fight the good fight…love ya to the moon and back, brother! 🫶🏻

Hey, Ned – If you’re attacked by a mob of clowns, go for the juggler!
