Jessie Anne Farnholtz Nagel, 84, passed away unexpectedly on December 24, 2024, in Fairport, New York. She is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Richard Howard Nagel. Born on March 28, 1940, in Little Falls, New York, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Lucille Congden Farnholtz, and sister to Linda Johst and the late Walter (Cheryl) Farnholtz Jr.
She was graduated from Baldwinsville Academy and Central School in 1958 and subsequently attended Potsdam State University as an art education major.
Jessie was a devoted mother to her three children: Rebecca Nagel Abrahams (Doug), Havertown PA; Sarah Jane Nagel, Auburn CA, and Douglas Howard Nagel (Laura), Honolulu HI. Her legacy lives on through her seven grandchildren: Edward Abrahams (Surekha Carpenter), Richmond VA; Andrew Abrahams (Megan Pinaire), Beverly MA; James Abrahams, Falls Church VA; David Abrahams, Cambridge MA; Elise Nagel, Lily Nagel, and Luke Nagel, all of Honolulu HI.
Jessie spent many years enjoying Lake Ontario at the “Shack” and ultimately at her summer home that she designed on Point Peninsula in Three Mile Bay, New York—which held a very special place in her heart. She had a wide array of hobbies that reflected her creativity and zest for life. Jessie was a talented seamstress and home designer who enjoyed creating art in a variety of mediums, especially in the kitchen! She was an avid fossil collector as well. She also delighted in solving crossword puzzles and playing card games with family and friends. She spent much time criss-crossing the US in her RV with Dick and dog at her side, traveling to the national parks, Alaska, and visiting her west coast children. Most of all, she loved her pets throughout the years and will be much missed by Bean, her cherished labradoodle.
On Thursday, January 2, 2025, visitation hours will be held from 1-2 pm at the Egypt location of Keenan Funeral Home, followed by a brief service (7501 Pittsford-Palmyra Rd. Fairport, NY 14450).
At a time to be determined in Summer 2025, we will have a Celebration of Life for Jessie and she will be buried at the Three Mile Bay Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Perinton Ambulance, 1400 Turk Hill Road, Fairport NY 14450.
Jessie’s warmth and creativity touched all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to her loved ones and all whose lives she enriched.
