FAIRPORT – Robert Jerome Warren (Jerry), born in Rochester, NY on September 5,1943, passed away on December 31, 2024 at the age of 81. He was predeceased by his parent’s Joseph and Jessie Warren. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Jean; brother Joel (Rita) Warren; sons Brett (Denise) Warren, Jeremy Warren; grandchildren Haley and Carter; and nieces, Emily and Robin.

Jerry attended Ithaca College and earned a bachelor’s degree in international studies/political science. He earned his master’s degree in education from SUNY Geneseo. Jerry was a history teacher in the Wheatland-Chili school district for many years. He led several Monroe County, Model U.N. groups of students on annual trips to The Hague, Netherlands where they would learn about government and debate. Jerry owned his own photography business, which was a year-round job but particularly great in the summer, specializing in weddings. For many years he was involved in local politics and is probably best known, to this day, as being the Mayor of Scottsville.

After retiring as a teacher, Jerry became a realtor where he enjoyed a successful career of 20 years selling houses. Jerry enjoyed traveling the globe and he and Jean rode all over the United States on his Harley Davidson. As an avid guitar player, Jerry and Jean would play at local nursing homes for the residents and this brought joy to both of them during their retirement years.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday February 1, 2025 at White Haven Memorial Park at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research: www.michaeljfox.org.

One of my most favorite teachers. He treated me with respect and humor when he knew I was having troubles in my life that I didn’t share with anyone. He’s one of only 2 teachers that actually made me want to stay in high school to graduate. I’m sorry for his family’s loss.

Hands down, my favorite teacher ever. Just a cool guy all round. He seemed to live a full life, maybe moreso than most. I was saddened to hear of his passing, even tho I haven’t seen him in so many years. Condolences to everyone in his family.

Jerry was a next door neighbor ever since they moved to Windrush Valley Rd. We enjoyed many fires in the backyard on balmy evenings. I remember how much he loved his Harley and the annual garlic fest . Jerry will definitely be missed.
