Leicht, David William

Dave Leicht…..passed away peacefully on January 14, 2025 at the age of 86. Born on November 20, 1938, he is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gayle Leicht, his daughter Beth Anne Napier (Bill), grandchildren Alexander and Sarah Napier, of Palm Beach, Florida. Predeceased by his parents Eugene and Cora Leicht, brother Jerry Leicht and sister Joan (Joseph) Adams.

Dave was a longtime Fairport resident. He graduated from Aquinas High School and was a very proud alumni of the University of Notre Dame. He was an ROTC member at Notre Dame and went on to serve 4 years in the U.S. Army. Everyone who knew him, knew of his passion for his beloved Fighting Irish football team. He and Gayle attended dozens of games over the years and he could always be relied upon to proudly sport Notre Dame apparel. 

Dave was the founder and owner of Leicht Marketing, a housewares company, where he worked for decades. He was an avid golfer and member of Monroe Golf Club where he and Gayle enjoyed many years. In recent years he stayed active by walking regularly at the Perinton Rec Center with friends.

Service to be held on Monday January 20 at 11am at St. John of Rochester, 8 Wickford Way, in Fairport. Burial at a future date.

    To Dave’s family: So sorry to read of Dave’s passing. I have many happy memories of Dave going back to the 60s at Notre Dame and then continuing with the Notre Dame Club of Rochester I hope the Mary of the Golden Dome will welcome him to the glories of eternal life. Phil Yawman ’62.
