Ruth Marion Forbes

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother
Ruth Forbes…..passed away peacefully on January 13, 2025 at the age of 95. Born on January 14, 1929 in New Britain, CT, she was preceded by John P. Forbes her beloved husband of 41 years. She is survived by her sons William (Juice) S. Forbes of Ashby, MA, John (Jack) P. Forbes II. of Hampton, NH, Alan H. Forbes of Palm Coast, FL, grand children Robert D. Forbes of Cranston, RI, Kathryn D. Forbes of Savannah, GA, John P. Forbes III of Leominster, MA, Jessica Forbes of Belfast, ME, Nicole (Forbes) Wagner of Vienna, AUST, great grandchildren George Forbes, Delphine Forbes, of Leominster, MA, Austin Forbes of Cranston, RI, Mathias Wagner, Vivienne Wagner of Vienna Austria and Louie Forbes of Belfast ME. Ruth was an orphan who never knew her parents. She didn’t let that slow her down, she was an honors graduate of New Britian HS and attended CT Teachers College on a full scholarship. She was a devoted wife and mother. Ruth made sure all of her three boys had the best educational opportunities and supported them in every way possible.
Ruth loved her family, walking, her farm house in Ashby and most importantly her time on Marthas Vineyard where she married John.
In recent years Ruth was a resident of Fairport Baptist Home. She stayed active by walking regularly, smiling and talking about her beloved family.
A Private Graveside Service and Burial to be held in Ashby, MA, at a future date.
