Matthew Stephen Felo, 81, born June 25, 1943, passed to his eternal rest on February 20, 2025. Survived by his wife, Sandra, daughters, Jennifer L. Stracke (Paul C.), and Laura E. Walters (Ian), grandchildren, Paul S., Ryan and Kyle Stracke, and Ella Walters, sister Roseanne Jahnke (David Aycock) of Georgetown, Delaware, brother Richard Felo (Karen) of Binghamton, NY, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother, Rose, father, Stephen, and his sisters, Carleen Rogers (Mark) and Kathleen Rounds.
Matt served as an altar boy at St. Ann’s church in Binghamton, NY. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist church, Rochester, NY and later of St. Joseph’s church in Penfield, NY. He served as a sergeant in the USMC and was deployed to Vietnam serving as a field radio operator. He received an associate’s degree in civil engineering from Monroe Community College. He worked in sales and as a construction estimator. A 17-year lung transplant survivor, he was a member and served as president of the Transplant Awareness Organization. He volunteered with Donate Life, Rochester Eye and Tissue Bank, and Friends of Strong. His passions were spending time with his wife, daughters, and grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time at the lake, boating, fishing, and model shipbuilding. A gentle soul, he was known for his kindness and generosity.

Services will be held in the Spring. Calling hours will be held at Keenan’s Funeral Home in the Village of Fairport, 41 South Main Street, Fairport, New York 14450. Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph’s church in Penfield, NY.
