Love you and miss you grandma
What a great neighbor! I remember many adventures, meals and lessons learned at the hands of Pat Wilcox. I will see her walking the hill of Loud Road every time I am there. I am sure she is loved and missed and well received in Heaven! God bless you through the transition that is loss here and happy reunion in Heaven!
I have fond memories of playing in the vast meadows and on the back hills and trails behind your home. I remember getting very wet in one unsuccessful attempt to jump over what now seems like a little cement pond out back. Wendy always made it over though. I remember other good times all from my childhood point of view and that Mrs. Wilcox was kind and, I’m sure, patient with the loud neighbor kids. Guilty. I know my mom was friends with Pat and respected her gardening talents. Much more recently, we appreciated staying in your barn so we could be close to Dad’s birthday festivities. I’m sad to hear of her passing as I’m sure she was a friend to all. Sending love and prayers for your family as you celebrate a wonderful life.
What a great example of generosity, boundless energy, and kindness. I walk every day, and I will think of Pat as I go. I, like Karyn said, feel like my mother gave her a heavenly welcome, and I bet they are off at a brisk pace to do even more heavenly work. Our love, prayers and thoughts to the dear Wilcox family. You’re the best neighbors anyone ever had.
I have fond memories of Pat, we coming us into her lovely home and barn space as we visited with our families. I loved the homey charm of antiques collected and explained (a candle smuffler comes to mind). Though our chats were few and far between over the years, her gracious nature has been a blessing for our next door family. We think of Bill and all descendants -Linda, Debbie, Cindy, and Wendy and your own posterity with love and wish you peace in her passing and joy in your memories of a beloved matriarch. May the Lord comfort you.
I have known Pat Wilcox for a very long time. She was my first 4H leader, and a great neighbor! Such a generous and kind soul is surely being celebrated on the other side. She has always had a ready smile and hug, a cheerful welcome to a weary traveler and a hospitality that could not be beat. She was there for us when our mother passed and then for our little brother, and for a few celebrations along the way. I will always treasure her kindness and try to follow her example as being a neighbor to all and a friend indeed. I always thought she would live long enough that all her freckles would join together into the perfect tan! We freckle-face girls had to stick together!
Our love and prayers are with all of the family- Wishing you joy in your memories and peace in your mourning- until we meet again in person for hugs!
We love our neighbors the Wilcox family! Bill and Pat have been my parents’ friends for all of my life. I remember fondly seeing my mom and Pat walking together in the mornings while I waited at my bus stop. They talked about gardening, family, and health, and I know this exercise time was precious to my mom and a blessing for their friendship! During large Anderson gatherings we couldn’t fit all the family members at our home, and several groups were graciously allowed to stay in the Wilcox “loft” a few different times. We enjoyed visiting and appreciated the love and generosity that were shared with us! Thanks for being dear friends and neighbors! The Anderson Family has a few representatives in the heavenly realm, and I like to think that our moms are having great conversations again! Your family will be in our prayers and thoughts.
Like my sisters, I too remember jumping the footprint, walking the woods, and sing welcomed by Pat. she always had a smile and time for us as children and adults. I know she loves her family and will be ready to meet them on the other side. May you be comforted and blessed by knowing she is loved and welcomed as she deserves.
Pat was a valued, long-time member of The League of Women Voters and she leaves a legacy of great work and wonderful friends. We;re grateful for her joy-filled company in “making democracy work.”
