Fairport: Jim had a valiant struggle with cancer. He passed peacefully March 7, 2017.Born in Geneva, NY September 10, 1938. Jim was predeceased by his parents Roy & Margaret Whitaker. Sisters Joan(Tom) Martin and Kay Smith, special “brother” Tony Passalacqua. Married to his high school sweetheart Barbara for 57 years.
Jim served in the Army. He graduated from Auburn Community College. Employed by Xerox as a manufacturing supervisor for 29 years.
Survived by wife Barbara, daughter Susan (Mike) Hoyser, son Jim Jr., beloved granddaughters Claudia and Olivia Hoyser, brother-in-law, Joe (Kathy) Passalacqua and family. Bud Smith and family, God son Rick (Cindy) Brietfeld, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jim enjoyed sports, reading, golf, travel, long rides, family vacation, family dinners, dancing, telling jokes and sharing his candy. His greatest joy was being with family. He was so very proud of his family and showed tremendous love always.

Through their son, Jim and Barb were brought in 5o my life. Time spent with Jim will be forever etched in my memory. Taking in Jimmy friends and always being there if we needed them is what I remember most. I am so sorry for your loss. Jim was truly a good man and he will be dearly missed by us allike. Love and prayers to all of you.
When I was young Jim made me get up and slow dance with him. It was my first time dancing and I never stopped from that day on!! God Bless you Jim and may you rest in peace! My prayers and thoughts are with all of you! XOXO
