Sam was born and raised in Rochester NY, with neighborhood friendships spanning decades. The “Lucky Seven” as they called themselves may have begun as a group of troublesome boys, but over the years they travelled together, shared in each other’s triumphs and failures and enjoyed laughter, luncheons, and many, many rounds of golf. (Of course one of his favorite past times.)
Sam was a graduate of East High School class of 1951. Following High School Sam joined the army where he served from 1953 to 1955, he was proud to be a US Veteran. Sam held a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from RIT, and went on to a 36 year career with Bausch and Lomb in which he travelled, opened a number of new manufacturing plants, and made lifelong friends which continued long after his work years had ended.

Upon retiring from Bausch and Lomb Sam loved travelling, especially to Sicily where his parents were from, and spending time surrounded by friends and loved ones including his wife of 39 years Gail, and children Thomas (Darlene), Robert (Barbara), Dorine (Roland) and Sabrina (Joseph). The pride he had for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren was endless. Sandy, Jason, Brian, Kristin, Michael, Samantha, Katie, Ariadne, Anderson, Dylan, Trevor, A.J., Leah, Nolan, and C.J. were thought of often with infinite love.
Sam never missed a Yankee game, and was a fan through thick and thin, we know he would have preferred a better end to the 2018 season.

“Death ends a life, but not a relationship.” The number of lives touched by Sam was too many to count, and he will be greatly missed.
