Merritt Island, FL: Passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019. Jim was born in Windber, PA, to parents Joseph H. and Mary Agnes (McMullen) Updegraff. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marilyn, and four children, Daniel, Matthew (Daphne), Shawn (Kelleen), and Christine (Jason) Cates. Also survived by seven grandchildren, Michael & Steven Wagner, Maya, Eric, Leah and Finley Updegraff and Jessica Drew-Cates, brother, Donald, of Lancaster, CA and a sister, Sister Mary L. Updegraff of Pittsburgh, PA. Predeceased by brothers Robert & Eugene and sister Bernadette Weisheier.

Jim worked a combined 31 years for Eastman Kodak and Johnson & Johnson as a service engineer, retiring in 1999. He was a past member of St. Patrick’s Church in Macedon and an active choir member. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and a true patriot who believed in his God and country. Jim will be remembered for his steadfast faith and great love of his home and family.

Calling Hours will be Thursday, January 31st from 4:30 – 7PM at the Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home, 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Rd., Fairport. A Funeral Mass will be held at Church of the Assumption, 20 East Ave., Fairport on Friday at 11:15 AM. Interment to follow at White Haven Memorial Park.
