McFarland, Charles H.

Charles Howard McFarland, passed away peacefully after a short illness on February 10 2019. Charlie leaves behind his son Chuck (Jodie) McFarland, John McFarland and daughter Susan (Chuck) Marchbanks, step daughter’s Lisa (David) Stensland and Sara (Garth) Anderson and first wife Norreen (Paul) DeMay. Grandchildren Isabel, Donovan, Lennon, Jessica, Steven, Taylor, Cameron, AJ, Sabrina, Samantha, and Meghan. Predeceased by his second wife Sandra McFarland.

Charlie was born in Alabama and then moved to West Virginia, New Jersey, Washington DC and finally settling in Baltimore Maryland. He graduated with his BS in business administration from Loyola University Maryland. Very proudly served in the 104th fighter squadron in the Maryland Air National Guard for six years. Charlie‘s career moves took him from Swift to Connecticut Life Insurance to The Edwards Company taking him from Connecticut to Ohio to Michigan to Illinois. Charlie then became the National Sales Manager of Rittenhouse, a division of Emerson Electric, which brought him and his family to Rochester New York in 1979. In his retirement Charlie greatly enjoyed his time spent volunteering for the American Red Cross and for Rochester General Hospital. Charlie’s final years were spent with his Perinton Presbyterian family and choir and The Perinton senior community choir, he was also a friend of Bill W. Charlie was a beloved father, stepfather, Grandpa, and Fairport community member. His passing will leave a giant hole in many hearts, he will be missed. Rest in peace Dad.

Calling hour, Friday February 22nd, 3 PM at the PerintonPresbyterian Church, 6511 Pittsford Palmyra Rd., Fairport, NY 14450 where a Service will follow at 4 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Humane Society at Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Rd., Fairport, NY 14450.

    Charlie will be greatly missed. Love, Scott, Jeanie, Regan, Thomas, Marycate, Abigail and Nicholas. Great pictures to commemorate a great man.
