Schumacher, Paul B.

Pittsford – June 29, 1929 – March 31, 2019. Survived by loving wife, Jan; children, Paul Jr., Dirk and Sally (Chris) Brown; 12 grandchildren and step-children, Karen Perry and Doug (Natalie) D’Ambrosio. Predeceased by children, Anne, Suzi and Jimmy.

There will be no prior calling hours. A Celebration of Paul’s Life will be held April 26th, 11 AM at the All Seasons Chapel in White Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to American Cancer Society (1120 S. Goodman St., Rochester, NY 14620) or the Rochester Ataxia Foundation (www.rochesterataxia..org)   Paul lived a very full life,rich in success and laughter and love.  Born in 1929 in Illinois , he was the only child of Florence and Erwin.  he enjoyed being a star high school tennis player,going on to win many championships. He was always proud of his college alma mater, the University of Illinois.  Never missing a football or basketball game on TV later in life.  From college Paul went on to establish his own very successful sales company. He loved his work. He loved interacting with people. He loved to travel for work and the people he met along the way. Some 30+ years ago he was citied as one of Rochester’s “Mover and Shaker” in the local newspaper. His volunteer work included Chairman of the American Red Cross Blood drive. And was very active recently in the Rochester Ataxia Foundation. Plus he was heavily involved voulnteering his time and energy at the Rochester Yacht Club,moving up the ladder to eventually become the Commodore in the mid 80’s. He had many interests including tennis, sailing,hunting, clay target shooting ,travel and golf. He never missed watching The Masters golf tournament on TV and he and Jan attended the Masters twice in Augusta,Ga. He also loved watching the Indianapolis 500 on TV every Memorial Day Weekend. Paul will be dearly missed by his family and his friends. And he will be especially missed by his wife and best friend Jan. How does one summarize nearly 90 years of such a great,wonderful,loving man ?
