Pittsford – Passed away peacefully at age 96. He owned a hearing aid office in Rochester, was a Freemason at the ERAC Lodge for more than 50 years, and an Emeritus Member of the Bristol Mtn. Ski Patrol. Nick was a WWII Navy Veteran who saluted the flag every day when he raised and lowered it at his home. He enjoyed photography, flying small planes, scuba diving and volunteering at the Sampson Naval Museum, Geneseo Air Show and the R. McDonald Sale. Nick was pre-deceased by his wife, Helen, and daughter Sylvia (John) Fink. He is survived by his daughters Anita (Roger) Bollier and Dr. Cynthia Anastas (Jon King), six grandsons, four great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Calling will be Thursday, May 2nd from 2-5pm, with a 4:30pm Trisagion Service, at The Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home, 7501 Pittsford-Palmyra Rd. (Egypt Location). A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 3rd at 11am at the Greek Orthodox Church, 962 East Avenue, Rochester, followed by entombment at White Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Greek Orthodox Church or Ronald McDonald Charity.

I had the privilege of knowing Nick at Bristol Mountain through OASIS Adaptive Sports. He was a volunteer helping other Vets at age 88. He was truly an inspiration to others. So sorry for your loss and for the loss of another WWII Veteran.

A wonderful visit with Nick just before he passed enjoyed many interesting topics and gentle conversations. All subjects offered were a pleasure to engage. Nick always likes coffee at dinner, “Would you like a cup of coffee?” “Are you having one?” “Sure.” We were so enjoyably convivial we didn’t notice everyone else left the dining area as we shared two hours of warm laughter. Nick was constantly proud to be a veteran in service to our country; I don’t know a more respectable patriot. Our mother immigrated from Greece, she was thankful to Nick for his assistance adjusting to a new country and helping with her four young children. Nick and Helen’s ring boy is forever grateful, five year old twin sister Connie was flower girl.
