Pete died peacefully on April 25, 2020, at age 94. He was predeceased in 2013 by his beloved wife of 63 years, Alice Eleanor Ross Taylor. Pete is survived by four children, Polly (David) Brackman, Laurie (Neal Wrightson), Peter (Nan) Taylor, Meg (Todd) Rubiano; eight grandchildren, Lynn (Brian) Spellecy and Scott (Mandy) Brackman, Fred Taylor-Hochberg (Kirsten Anderson), Amelia Taylor-Hochberg (Anders Bjerregaard-Andersen), Andrew (Alicia) Taylor, Keith (Allison) Taylor, Ian (Mary) Rubiano, Taylor (Peter Sjer) Rubiano; five great-grandchildren, Kate and Connor Spellecy, and Kaylyn, Paul, and Pamela Brackman; three nephews, Ross Brennan (Mary Agnes Carey) and great-nieces Annie and Lizzie, David (Rose) Brennan and great-nephew Andre, and Michael (Ellen) Ross and great-nephew Will and great-niece Grace.
Pete was born in 1925 and raised in Rockford, Illinois. After he served in the Army Air Corps, he met Alice at the University of Illinois, and graduated with an engineering degree. Pete and Alice married and settled in Chicago. In 1960 his company transferred him to Puerto Rico where the family lived for five adventurous years. Returning to the continental U.S., Pete and the family settled in Fairport, where Pete worked at Bausch & Lomb and at Dynak Inc. Pete served his community as President of the Fairport School Board, and was on the board of the Pittsford YMCA. When Pete and Alice retired, they bought a motor home and traveled to all 48 contiguous states. Pete loved golf and 30 years of annual lakefront family reunions. He lived independently until his last month. Pete was a wonderful husband, father, uncle, and grandfather, and is sorely missed.
The family thanks the doctors and staff at Strong Memorial Hospital, the staff at South Hall 2 of the Episcopal Church Home and Lifetime Hospice, for their excellent care during this time of coronavirus. There will be a memorial at a future date when family and friends can safely gather, at Faith Lutheran Church in Penfield.

He was a good friend of the Robinson family. I have many special Clarke’s Crossing memories of the whole Taylor family. My prayers are with you and your family.
Pete was a kind and wonderful neighbor at Clarkes Crossing. We remember Pete and Alice taking their nearly daily walks hand in hand. He always had a warm and friendly greeting. We got to know Alice and Pete through the years and always thought they were a wonderful couple. Our sympathies go out to all the family who he was so proud of .
Pete was a great neighbor, always upbeat and.cheerful.He’ll be missed.
