I am one of Mark’s classmates from Colonia HS ’77. I did not know him as the valiant and decorated naval officer he was to become. He was just Mark – one of my closest friends in high school. But I think we all knew he was destined to do great things. We had practically every class together in senior year. We were competitive about our grades. I remember him as a very smart, driven, and funny guy, someone who was kind to everyone, and who was super clean and meticulous about his appearance 🙂 . I have a happy memory of visiting him his first Summer ’77 at the USNA. I thank him for his service to the USA. May God keep him, may God bless his wife and children, and may God bless us all, and help us live our lives to fullest potential each day.
It’s been over 5-years since the passing of Captain Adamshick. I just wanted to say that he was the best C.O. I ever had. That man meant more to me as a leader than anyone will ever know. I’m heart broken at his passing, especially since I never knew until years later.
Skipper, I’m sorry that I didn’t know and that I didn’t attend your funeral.
Fair winds and following seas, shipmate. I hope you’re riding high in a Delta with the GBUs in tow.
I had no idea, I stumbled across this searching for old shipmates on day. Shaker was the kindest, most understanding, level headed man and leader I ever met. He made everyone around him better. It breaks my heart to read that he’s gone but I know it my heart I’ll see him again. Fair Winds and Following Seas Shaker, rest in peace sir!
