John A. Alaimo, a beloved father and grandfather passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, in Hilton Head, S.C., at the age of 86.

He was born July 15, 1939, in Rochester, N.Y., to the late John and Mary Alaimo. John built a successful career in the telephone business, where he was known as a driven and effective salesman. He retired in 1991 and began the next chapter of his life in what he often called his “heaven on earth,” Hilton Head Island.

During his retirement, John embraced the island life. He was an avid golfer and cherished his time at the local cigar club with his group of friends, affectionately known as the “Green Jacket Society.” Above all, he loved his family and found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren.

John is survived by his son, Thomas Alaimo and his wife, Stephanie, and their children, Evan, Trey, Jonathan and Sarah; his daughter, Jennifer Richardson and her husband, Troy, and their daughter, Emma; his daughter, Michelle Alaimo and his cat Shadow.

A private family service will be held to honor his memory. If you would like to honor John, please consider donating to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or the American Cancer Society.

  1. I was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) four years ago. For over two years, I relied on prescription medications and therapies, but unfortunately, the symptoms continued to worsen. My breathing became more labored, and I experienced increasing fatigue and shortness of breath with even minimal activity.Last year, out of desperation and hope, I decided to try an herbal treatment program from NaturePath Herbal Clinic.Honestly, I was skeptical at first, but within a few months of starting the treatment, I began to notice real changes. My breathing became easier, the tightness in my chest eased, and I felt more energetic and capable in my daily life. Incredibly, I also regained much of my stamina and confidence. It’s been a life-changing experience I feel more like myself again, better than I’ve felt in years. If you or a loved one is struggling with IPF, I truly recommend looking into their natural approach.
