With a heavy heart I share that Miguel Angel Alameda, 49, born in Brooklyn NY, is resting in eternal peace. He passed away peacefully on Monday, September 15th, a date that will forever be etched in our hearts. Through his illness he refused to grow bitter or let his suffering harden his spirit. He faced the hardest part of his life with strength, gratitude and love; he wanted to be just like our father, and he honored that legacy.
Miguel was a devoted son, a loving brother, a proud uncle, brother-in-law, nephew, cousin and friend. He lived a life of faith, honesty and love for his family, friends, sports and music. Never in a rush, always steady, patient and genuine in nature, he touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his siblings, Ivonne Alameda-Racaniello, Merly Alameda, Norma Alameda, Juan “Kike” Alameda, Mercedes Barber; his nieces and nephews, Kayla Alameda, Olivia Roldan, Sophia, Emily & Madelynn Racaniello, Paola & Raymond Santiago, Juan Roberto, Dylan & Jovany Alameda.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 25th at St. John Cantius Catholic Church, 479 New Jersey Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11207, 5:30-7:00p followed by mass at 7:00p.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Wilmot Cancer Center (UR Medicine) or National MS Society in honor of Miguel Angel Alameda.
Rest in peace, Miguel. Whether it’s a Mets game, or a WWE match, we’ll always think of you. Your legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty will live on in the memories of all who knew you. Rest in Peace my Brother!
