I worked in the bakery at Wegmans with John. He would come in at 5 am very cheery and pep in his step while the rest of us were barely awake. He’d say “Happy Monday!” and then the same thing the rest of the days of the week. He ran circles around those of us that were a lot younger.
He laughed when we gave him the nickname “Johnny Armbuster”.
I have a lot of admiration and respect for him.
May the memories of him bring peace to his family.

Debra and Robert, my deepest sympathies to you. Your father worked for me at the Office for the Aging. He was a fabulous story teller, an example for everyone else, and the most kindhearted soul. Over 7.5 years as his boss, I only beat him in to the office a handful of times (typically because I had a trip to Albany or I was up all night at the Office of Emergency Management). He loved you and your mom to the core. It’s sad to hear he is gone. He made a lasting impression on so many people.

    Sincerely, Julie Aldrich

    Dear Debra and John,
I am so sorry for your loss. Mom and Dad within a few weeks of each other, so very hard and sad. Your dad was a great trustee for the Penfield Library, we were lucky to have him. Such a great library family all the way around. Your dad was truly a wonderful person. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad and difficult time.
