George John Baxter was born in Elmira, New York on April 16, 1938. He died March 29, 2020. He was the son of Elizabeth and Leon Baxter. He married Judy Baxter on July 2, 1961. He graduated from the Manlius Military Academy and received a degree from the University of Vermont in 1960. He served in the Army from 1960-1965 retiring as Captain. He worked at the Rochester Telephone Company and retired from the Eastman Kodak Company in 1991.
He is survived by his wife Judy of 58 years, his son George Steven Baxter (Jennifer), daughter Laurie Delong (Paul), daughter Katherine Baxter (Dave), grandchildren, Brian Delong (Alexa), Caroline Delong, Taylor Baxter, Margaret Baxter, Elizabeth Baxter and William Baxter.
He loved spending time with his family, skiing, boating, car racing and spending time at his cottage on Keuka Lake. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. George was my very first boss at Kodak. I will forever be grateful to him to starting me out on my career. He was kind and thoughtful, very supportive but also set a high bar for goals. Again, I will be forever in debt to him.

I am sorry to have learned about George’s passing. My condolences to his wife, children and grandchildren. I worked in the Copy Products Division ~1978 supporting George as an Admin Aid. I remember George as kind and gentle with a warm smile. He was a wonderful manager who was beloved by his staff. It is with certainty that the gates of heaven were opened for him. May he rest in peace.
