Robert Mackenzie Black
FAIRPORT – Bob passed away quietly on February 20, 2025. He is predeceased by his parents Lewis and Jane Z. Black of Palmyra, NY, and his brother Willard Brooks Black. He is survived by his wife Gail Dobbins Black, daughter Amy Bachman (Mark), stepdaughter Amanda Slisz (Greg), stepson Matthew Dobbins, brother in-law Ned Fox (Janet), 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, niece and nephew, many cousins, good neighbors and very special friends Don and Al and cousins Robin and Jim.
Bob was an engineer at Eastman Kodak Compa ny and for 34 years had his own business, Mack enzie Carpentry and Construction. He retired in 2018. Bob was a great story teller, a gentle man who loved to sail.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Strong Memorial Hospital and the staff of the Comfort Care Center at St. Ann’s for their compassionate dedication to their patients. Remembrances may be made to an Alzheimer’s or Diabetes Organization of your choice. Services at the convenience of the family.
