Teresa “Terry” Bonn (née Aman), 71, of Fairport, NY, returned to her heavenly home on October 10, 2020 after a valiant battle with leukemia. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her fight and ultimately gave her peace.
Terry was born to the late Madlyn (Foley) and Clarence Aman, of Penfield, NY, on June 21, 1949. She grew up in a large, loving family with five sisters and four brothers. She graduated from Penfield High School in 1967 and worked for the Department of Social Services until her retirement in 2011. She married Kenneth Bonn, Jr, in 1975, and the pair, with Kenneth’s daughter, Cara, moved to Fairport, NY. Although the union was not permanent, over seven years, the couple welcomed three more children into their home and Terry set about teaching them compassion, hard work, and persistence. Her children remember her as a driven, strong woman and a generous mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals and dreams.
Terry was talented at any sport she played, but excelled at softball and tennis. She was a kind and giving individual who was passionate about giving back to her community. She volunteered with Generation Two (G2) at School #3 in Rochester to help and educate young students through play and friendship. She also volunteered with the Perinton Food Pantry delivering food to those in need.
She was a loving mother to her two sons, Eric (Michelle Ferron) Bonn and Brian (Rachel Vander Malle) Bonn and her daughter Kristen Bonn. She was an amazing grandmother to her five grandchildren, Colin Bonn, Liam Bonn, Ayden Bushey, Kaitlyn Bonn, and Trenton Bonn. She also leaves behind her sisters, Claire (Art) Florack, Kate Wicks, Jean (Jerry) Tosch, Pat Proulx, and Eileen Aman; as well as her brothers, James (Barbara) Aman, George (Dahlia) Aman, and Robert (Constance) Aman; several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Frank Aman.
Calling hours will be held Friday, October 16th, 5-7 PM at Richard H Keenan Funeral Home, 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Rd., Fairport. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, October 17th, 11:00 AM at Church of the Assumption, 20 East Ave., Fairport, followed by her burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (lls.org) in her memory.

Terry made a difference in the lives of more than 20 young children at School 3 over the past several years. She joyfully played with them while offering acceptance and encouragement. These kids and the other adults in the Tuesday G2 group will miss her cheerful smiles and warm words.

Terry was a good friend to both the kids she played with and the other adults in G-2. Her smile and her devotion will be missed. She was a true reflection of the ideals of G-2.

I’ll miss my conversations about our grandchildren. The joy she had for the time spent with them. She had a nice way with the G-2 kids. I’ll miss her.

Terry was a sweet and gentle presence to our buddies in G2 but also to our adult team. I am so glad I had the opportunity to know and work with her. Rest In Peace my friend.

I will second all the other G-2 comments, but I also had the pleasure and joy of carpooling with her to G-2 for many years. She shared the joy of her grandchildren, the competition of her tennis game,, the frustration of “THE LAKE” in her yard, and just a very joyous outlook on life. I will deeply miss her.
Thank you for your kindness and sympathy
On behalf of the Perinton Food Shelf, I would like express our sadness at Terry’s passing and our appreciation for all that she did to help the Food Shelf feed those in need. She was always available to lend a hand. We thank her family for sharing her with us and wish them peace knowing what she has meant to the community.
