LIZ WILL BE REMEMBERED FONDLY BY ALL THE KNAPP FAMILY. SHE AND JACK WERE DEAR FRIENDS OF AL & HARRIETT KNAPP, OUR PARENTS, AND SHE TAUGHT OUR CHILDREN AT BERTHA AGOR. OUR YOUNGEST SON RYAN KNEW MRS. BOORSMA AS “THE BEST” AND VISITED HER WHEN SHE WAS A RESIDENT AT NORTHFIELD. MEMORIES OF HER IN FAIRPORT HISTORICAL CLUB, AS A FAIRPORT ROTARY ANN AND WITH HER JACK AT ROTARY FUNCTIONS BRING SMILES AND TEARS.
WHAT A DELIGHT LIZ WAS. ALWAYS SMILING. I MET HER 13 YEARS AGO AS A NEW MEMBER OF THE FAIRPORT HISTORICAL CLUB. I ASKED HER IF HER NAME WAS FRISIAN, AND SHE WAS SURPRISED I KNEW THAT. WE DISCUSSED MY TIME IN EUROPE AND LEARNING HOW INDEPENDENT FRIESLAND PEOPLE WERE. WE HAD A LIVELY DISCUSSION ON THAT TOPIC. I WILL TREASURE HER MEMORY.
Liz was such a positive and generous woman. My contacts with her at Bertha Agor as a parent, as a grad student doing child development research, and most recently as a fellow “Y” member are cherished memories. Liz sets a high bar for the call to civic involvement.. May her memory guide us. Phil Yawman Fairport NY
I was blessed to have Liz as a volunteer at the library…She and Jack once bought a Ford Taurus station wagon out from underneath me. Fairport was blessed to have two such wonderful people contributing to our community..
