April 7, 2023, Honeoye Falls, NY
James Robert “Bob” Bryce, 85 years of age, passed away peacefully on April 7 after a short illness, with his daughter by his side.
Bob was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Patricia “Pat” Bryce (Miller) in 2020. He is survived by his daughter Sharon (Don Witzel), son Robert, sister Jan Gordon, nephews Bill and Gary Gordon and grandchildren Justin, Shalyn and Paul. Bob was born in Philadelphia, PA on December 21, 1937 to the late Bascom and Bertha Bryce.
Bob and Pat lived most of their lives in Fairport, NY. Bob worked for Xerox Corp. as a design engineer.
After retirement in 1997, Bob travelled by RV with his wife throughout the Western United States with their friends Fred and Diane Ball. They spent each summer at their cottage on the St. Lawrence River. Bob and Pat left the RV life behind in 2004 to purchase a winter home in Leesburg, FL. They continued to enjoy the 1000 Islands each summer until 2017 when they moved back to NY to live with their daughter and son-in-law.
To say that Bob enjoyed woodworking would be an understatement. Bob never met a piece of wood he didn’t appreciate. Over the years, he built his island cottage and made many beautiful pieces of furniture and toys. Bob was also an avid gardener. His perfectly tended vegetable gardens were legendary.
A private celebration of Bob and Pat’s lives will be held at a later date. Anyone wishing may consider a donation in Bob and Pat’s names to Lollypop Farm at www.lollypop.org.

Beautifully written. Prayers continue for the family as they work thru this difficult time.
So sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. He was such a nice man, and his “deck “ gardens were amazing. What a blessing that you had the honor of sharing a home with him over these last few years! My prayers for you and your family as you move this journey of grief.
Bob was a strong, tenacious man. He was a great provider for his family. He loved you all dearly. He was always so kind to me. You and all who knew him are in my thoughts and prayers.
We are so sorry that he passed! We were looking forward to seeing him in a couple of months!! In my prayers Sharon!
Bob and Pat were our island neighbors. They were more like family for the pass 24 something years. His loving attitude towards us, our children and dogs alike, will always bring a smile to our face and warmth to our hearts… Bob was a thoughtful, quiet man who had a respect for the beauty of nature around him. We were fortunate to have known the Bryce’s. Until we meet again…rest in peace and give a hug to Pat.
Condolences and hugs to Sharon and Don.
We are so sorry for your loss.
My husband and I remember Bob from Xerox Corporation. He was a friendly and admired co-worker. We were very sorry to hear of the passing of Bob and his wife, Pat.
Please accept our sincere condolences and prayers for all of their family and friends.
Thank you very much for your kind words.
He was such a very good man whose huge smile and hugs I will always miss. Uncle Bob, with Aunt Pat, were the secund most important adults in my life throughout most of my formative years. Their impact on who I am today is immeasurable. Sharon and Don, you are both in my thoughts.
