It is with profound sadness that we announce Robert C. Camp, Jr., passed away suddenly on October 30, 2025. He is survived by his loving wife, Shelly Thornberg Camp; his three adoring daughters, Caitlyn (Graham), Christiana, and Carolyn; his father Robert Camp; his older brother John (Lori) Camp, and by his nieces and nephews.
Rob was born October 28, 1965 in Wilmington, Delaware, the second son of Robert C. Camp, and Carolyn Albrecht Camp. He spent his formative years in Rochester, NY, and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University. He met his wife Shelly in Syracuse, NY on the softball field. Early in their marriage, Rob and Shelly lived in York, England; they recently revisited York to celebrate their 31st wedding anniversary. After returning from England, Rob and Shelly raised their own family in Farmington.
Rob cherished nothing more than his wife and daughters; he dedicated his life to providing for them and nurturing them. He spoke about his daughters, and his pride in them, to anyone and everyone. Rob loved playing the guitar, camping with his family at their summer cottage in Canada, and watching the Buffalo Bills. His family remembers him as an extraordinarily kind, infinitely loving man; they loved his goofy humor and his humility, and they recall, with immense fondness, his perpetually unruly hair, which he tamed beneath his many, many baseball caps.
Rob’s passing leaves an unimaginable gulf in his family’s hearts as he joins his mother, Carolyn; his childhood friend, Lynne Waag Personius; his close friend, Bruce Bensink; and the many family cats he (begrudgingly) loved. He will be mourned by all who knew him, and especially by his wife Shelly; his daughters Caitlyn, Christiana, and Carolyn; his father, Robert C. Camp; his brother, John Camp; by his dear friends, Kirk Personius and Jon Lindblom, and by all of his friends, family, and work colleagues. His memory lives on in the joy, the laughter, and the love he brought to us all.
Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday, November 12, from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Richard H Keenan Funeral Home (Egypt Location) 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Road, Fairport.

I’m so sorry to hear this. He was a good man. I met him when he was a visiting R&D engineer. Many times I would be assigned to be his technician, and he would share my office. I learned a lot about designing experiments, collecting and analyzing data. Not only is it a loss for his family. But he will be missed by his company.

My deepest sympathy … He was a dear friend and always made me laugh and enjoy the time I spent working with him over the years. I am so sad for our loss but I can tell you I am so happy and proud to say that he was my friend.
The only thing rarer than Rob himself was a phone call with him lasting less than 30 minutes! And he always ended them with making sure everything was okay in my life.
