Carlascio, Louis A.

Louis A. Carlascio of Rochester NY passed away peacefully on
October 1, 2019 at the age 93 after a brief illness. Louis is preceded in death
by his parents Samuel and Sylvia Carlascio of Cohoes, NY.  He is also survived by his wife of 71 years Elizabeth
(Betty) Carlascio and his four sons Louis E. (Denise) of Clearwater  FL, 
Anthony (Deborah) of Charleston SC,  Richard (Dale) of Rochester NY and Daniel
(Julie) of Cincinnati OH.  Lou was also the
loving grandfather of Christine (Dana) Harsell, Kevin (Stacy) Carlascio, Beth
(Adam) Dittman, Nicholas (Jessica) Carlascio, Christopher (Ashleigh) Carlascio,
Matthew (Kim) Carlascio, Nicole (Sean) Carlascio, Allison (Alex) Padgett,
Micheal (Julie) Carlascio, Samuel Carlascio and fourteen (14) great
grandchildren.  He is also survived by
his sister Ethel Abdelnour of Albany NY and brother-in-law Robert Bashford of
Troy NY.

Lou served his country during World War II aboard the USS Pitt in the Pacific Theater and was involved in the Battle of Okinawa.  Upon his return from the war he met the young girl who was his pen pal while at sea and fell in love with Elizabeth (Betty) Finlan of Troy, NY.  He went to college on the GI Bill and graduated from Siena College in Loudonville NY.  Lou spent his entire working life in the pharmaceutical industry rising to the position of CEO of RDC Corporation in Rochester, NY.  Lou was credited with turning around the distressed business, returning it to profitability and providing the first ever pension program for its employees. He retired from RDC in 1991 and continued to serve on the Board until 1993.  Lou and Betty spent his retirement years at their homes in New Port Richey Fl and Rochester NY.  He believed in keeping traditions, especially around the holidays, and loved having large family gatherings. He enjoyed travel, was an avid golfer, had boundless energy and was always the life of the party. (getdelmar.com) Lou was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
