John J. Ceravolo, of Macedon NY, passed away November 21st 2021. He is survived by his two sons Rocco, Preston, his parents Rocky, and Mary, sister Suzanne, brother-in-law Bruce, and of course, his dog, Cyrus and all of his amazing friends.
John was born and raised in Fairport NY. He graduated from Fairport High School in 1978. John worked for Xerox, at Qualitrol as a machinist, for Ryder as a truck driver hauling containers to New Jersey and back. Soon after this, he took on a position at Pooler Enterprise driving dump trucks for years. In December of 2009 John purchased Rocky’s Automotive Service and opened his very own Automotive Repair Shop.
John purchased his home in Macedon in 1993 and raised his two sons Preston and Rocco. John loved his sons dearly, and was extremely proud of both of them. He was their best friend, and their biggest support. Whether John was teaching Rocco how to ride motorcycles, or driving Preston to every football or basketball game, he never missed an opportunity to be with his sons. John passed down his passion for cars, bikes, engines, music, dogs, food, family, and friends to anyone who spent time with him. John has been loved by so many, and has touched so many of our lives.
Funeral Mass Monday November 29 at 1PM at St. John of Rochester Church, Fairport. This tribute will be casual and we are encouraging his friends and family to share a memory or story of John during this time.

Dear Mr.and Mrs Ceravolo and Sue: There are no words to describe the sorrow and sympathy John and I are feeling. Losing two of our closest childhood thru adulthood friends within a week of each other is overwhelming and heartbreaking. We have shared so many memories and milestones together, it’s the moments of laughter that come to mind about Johnny that will help get us through. Not 4 weeks ago I sat with Johnny and Brendan at The Landmark Diner and as I walked out the door I stopped for a moment and looked back,I watched them laughing and talking and it filled my heart with a comfort and a smile came to my face as I was watching the characters of my life. I will hold that image of them in my heart for the rest of my life. Love and deepest sympathy to you all. Lynnie LaFica Clifford

When our friend Brendan was in the hospital recently I spent hours on the phone with John. As yours children we lived just a few doors apart from each other. John wanted to have a get together at my house for Brendan, he was going to cook his famous pasta and meatball dinner. When we head that Brendan had passed John told me that he went to see his parents, he said he hugged them both and told them both that he loved them. A few days later John was gone . Losing two friends one week apart has been hard to take. I had spent the day with both of them at the drag strip just a few months ago. I will forever hold that memory in my heart. My heart goes out to Rocky, Mary, and all family members

So sorry to hear of John’s passing. I have fond memories of John and his buds in my “shop” classes at Minerva Deland. His smile was grand, always said hi and a great worker too. Loved having him in my “Industrial Arts” classes early in my teaching career at Fairport. RIP John…

One of the kindest souls I had the pleasure to know.. My Mom at 90 years old asked me to put gas in her car. I noticed her inspection sticker had expired. I drove to Rockys and of course John gives me a big bear hug and wants to know what I need. It was probably 10 minutes before closing and he stayed open for me to due the inspection ,He did not want my Mom to get a ticket. He was a blessing to so many people! Sue my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Shelia Thank you so much. That was my brother always helping others. Love always ❤️
Rocco, Preston, Sue, Rocky and Mary,
We can’t believe he is gone. My heart hurts and we miss him very much! Our breakfast and lunch dates to our treasure hunts for dirt bikes and four wheelers. Cooking steaks on the grill and hanging at the shop. Drinking cold brew from Starbucks won’t be the same without you. Everything we do, won’t be the same without you! Til we meet again my friend, we love you! So sorry for loss and may healing come quickly.
Thank you Love you guys!
Rocky & Mary, so sorry to hear of Jonny’s passing. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Jim & MaryJane Schenkel

We are beyond saddened for all of the Ceravolo family and this significant loss. John and the Ceravolo family have been part of our family my entire life. John was always a presence when in his company, usually making us laugh as he would make comments to antagonize his mother, followed by a smirk and giggle. I have a great memory of being young singing and dancing with him and my sister to the Elton John album “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. All our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
Tim Jill Megan. Beyond grateful for you all. You have been such a blessing to our family. Thank you so very much from the bottom of our hearts. Love you all ❤️
To Rocky and Mary,
What crushing news. Why do such things happen to such wonderful people? My heart breaks for you. May God’s peace and blessings be with you.

I had the pleasure of meeting John just a few years ago. He was a talented mechanic, understood every nuance of a car engine,. He and I talked about what certain sounds were, what they meant; he was a magician when it came to solving car issues! He will be greatly missed; it was clear he adored his sons and was very proud of them He also loved his parents and his dog, Cyrus, I am so sorry for hs parents amd childrens loss. I will greatly miss him!

I’m so very sorry to hear of John’s passing. He was a long time customer and friend of the family at BanD Parts Plus, and I always enjoyed talking to him. He had a habit of leaving his phone behind, on the counter. The first time it happened I was trying to figure out who the beautiful Shepherd that was the screen saver belonged to. I ended up dialing “Mom and Dad” to find out. He came back and got the phone and we all had a good laugh about it. You will be forever missed my friend. My deepest condolences to the family.
John and I graduated from Fairport High School together. Remember his passion for cars and music. Extending my sincere sympathy to the family.
