Kenneth Christian, age 101, of Fairport, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at his residence. He was born on September 6, 1922, in Malone, NY. He was predeceased by his parents, brother, and loving wife Genevieve Christian. He is survived by his three children Alan (Regan) Christian, Susan (Garry) Cointot and Mary (Duane) Hein; seven grandchildren, Lisa, Sarah, Lindsey, Kelly, Heather, Kevin and Melissa, 7 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Ken was an army veteran serving in the Pacific Theatreduring World War II. After the war, he earned an associate’s degree from Rochester Institute of Technology where he studied Electrical Engineering and was the Captain of the Varsity wrestling team. He furthered his education and earned a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from MichiganState University graduating in 1951.
He married the love of his life in July of 1952. They settled in Fairport, NY where he built their forever home. They were happily married for 60 years until her death in 2012. He enjoyed the many visits and family holiday gatherings. He worked as an Auditor and later Head of the Fairport Municipal Commission for Fairport Electric for 36 years, retiring in 1998. He was a volunteer fireman for the Village of Fairport.
Ken had many interests. He was an avid gardener and the entire family enjoyed bringing in the harvest of vegetables and fruits. He enjoyed playing volleyball and tennis. He spent many years participating in programs at the Jewish Community Center and the Perinton Recreation Center.
